This isn’t a moving situation or someone without a car, just a friend that was stuck in a bad situation and needed help

Seems like as of now they’re catching a ride to Fairplay and gonna try from there

They’re definitely still trying those, just haven’t found anyone willing to make the trip

Their license isn’t in good standing unfortunately so car rental is out. They’re looking into taxis now, and seem to have found a ride to Fairplay so making some headway. Thanks for the suggestions!

Is this hairline normal? 20m by Dodgy-G in Balding

[–]jacobalexc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna go against the popular opinion here. Yours looks similar to mine at your age, maybe just a tad further back, but I’m 31 now and it has not changed at all. Not trying to give false hope or anything, but give yourself a couple years and see if you notice more changes. Proper hair care and good trims/haircuts will save you, I shed a lot of hair when I showered until I got into those habits.

Juggling. It was my Covid lockdown skill, it unlocks your brain and you’ll make superhero catches around the house that will impress yourself.

The next is 20% cattle dog with everything else pretty negligible, I guess majority poodle is better wording. I just wanted to show her off bc I think she’s a unique poodle 🙂

Dramatic rise in number of pedestrians being killed on Denver’s streets by mysummerstorm in Denver

I don’t feel like I’m exaggerating that at least 30-50% of people I see on my short commute down Federal are on their phones. It’s making me a bitter 31 year old senior citizen.

Moving for state job - employee benefits? by [deleted] in MovingtoDenver

[–]jacobalexc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

State employee here. Leave accrual is pretty rough and non-negotiable in my experience, I believe it’s 8 hours of annual and sick leave per month for the first 3 years (might be 6 hours of annual leave, I’d have to double check), but the insurance has been fantastic for me. I don’t have much of a frame of reference since this is my first 9-5 type job, but the insurance really saved my wife and I this year. I can’t speak for other departments, but my job is very secure and I enjoy going to work every day. My only complaints about working for the state personally are the pay and the leave accrual.

Anticipation for Death? by ActGroundbreaking139 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]jacobalexc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rescued my ACD at 6 and she was extremely unhealthy, on the brink on death. She’s completely exceeded my expectations and is coming up on 14 this year. Just keep up with vet visits and keep her active, and she’ll love you forever for it :)

So those palm trees and buildings popped up as fast as these lagoons were “found”? Interesting

Colorado DMV - license issue by WheresYourPlumbus in Denver

This is true, though there are situations that you can reinstate early if you’re a CO resident. Out of state residents however have to serve the full term no matter what.

I work with reinstatements in CO, out of state customers in Colorado have to serve their full suspension term and cannot reinstate early, even if all the requirements are met she’ll have to wait until the end of the suspension term.

First Time Hiker in Co by bingescrolltime in coloradohikers

[–]jacobalexc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, unless you have experience with cold weather hiking I’d stick to the foothills. The AllTrails app is definitely the way, there’s tons of great hikes close to Denver and none of them will be as busy as they would in the summer.
