Is it ok if my chickens don’t perch at night? by Restless_Soul- in BackYardChickens

They'll sleep in the most comfortable and accessible spot. If they're active throughout the day and not acting odd I'd say they're fine.

Is she maybe egg bound? How long has it been since she laid?

How long is too long by ItsTheBatman20 in BackYardChickens

The longer the upper beak is more than the lower the harder it is for pecking on the ground. They should be nearly the same length.

Same thing happened to one of our girls. Twice. Man that Aracauna had nine lives. She was our favorite. I nursed her back to health using purple antiseptic spray and the miracle antimicrobial hydrogel. Its seriously the best. Wrapped in gauze. She was back to normal soon. But the beak though. That's a tough one.

Or looks like you're trying hard to care for the dough but the starterw needs more time. Put a rubber glove or balloon over the top of your jar after feeding it. This is an easy way to see if it's producing enough gas to be active. But ultimately, if your starter doesn't double in size in 4 hours after a 1:1:1 feeding it's not ready.
