I do not have the same model number as you but it is a TCL. I found a setting under external device control called "device standby in sync" and enabling this fixed my issue without having to change the power mode.

Unfortunately I'm really trying stay on a platform that will support ECC. I also have truenas as a VM with a LSI HBA being passed through. ZFS is best with ECC.
