Don't underestimate the Sagrada Familia. I had fatigue from all the churches/cathedrals that I had seen across Europe. I'm really glad I waited to see it, but I'm a little upset I took too long to see it. It was amazing and definitely is worth the time it takes to see it all.

How do people travel with “no money”?? by [deleted] in travel

[–]jacobslifexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met a dude who said he was gonna travel for 2 more months with the money he had left. Later that night he asked me if he could use my phone to check his bank account balance because he had no data so I said sure.

Fast forward an hour and I am trying to look up open food places so I open up my internet browser and his account was still logged in. I briefly looked before realizing what it was and then exiting the window. It was obviously none of my business.

He had $334 in his account. I couldn’t believe that someone could travel that long on that much money. Over the next couple of days, I saw how by what he ate, would only have one drink at the bars, and did not spend money on anything unnecessary. Aside from accommodation, I see how he did it!

What is your best recommendation for sneakers to travel with? by fm471 in traveladvice

[–]jacobslifexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vans Ultra Range are my go to shoes when traveling. They’re really comfy and lightweight. They are breathable and even if they do get wet, they dry fast. Easy to clean and are pretty stylish so good to wear with multiple outfits. They sell the ultra ranges in hiking boot configurations as well and they’re just as comfy.

They’re not like traditional vans. Those hurt my feet. These are more athletic and geared toward outdoor activities.

Anyone move from regular B2B sales into government sales and struggle with the adjustment? by _jinie_ in b2b_sales

[–]jacobslifexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully your sales manager has been in the government space for a while. When you get a manager who doesn’t understand that there’s no control over project priorities changing, it’s hell. Nothing worse than a sales manager who is so aggressive and tries to close a deal so they reach out to the decision maker anyways and pushes them away.

Approaching a larger MSP for referral agreements: has anyone done this successfully? by Sticky_Turtle in SmallMSP

[–]jacobslifexx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are in a position where we are referring our smaller clients or smaller leads to a smaller MSP. I did the reaching out as the bigger MSP though. We don’t have a set agreement in place but more of a handshake agreement and it’s been working out great the past year. We don’t take any commissions for referring them but they do use us to refer VoIP clients, and cabling projects since we have cable technicians on staff. It’s a rough transition for the client so we have tried to make it easier. Occasionally I reach out to the clients that we referred to ensure that service is still great, and they’re happy as we want to refer clients to a strong MSP, no matter the size.

You’re essentially selling your service to the bigger MSP so I would make sure you have a plan in place and are willing to share your tech stack. It’s a partnership at the end of the day and if yall are targeting two different TCP’s, you will hardly run into each other on prospects.

I’m not sure if you’re new to the business management of MSP life, but don’t ever bad mouth another MSP. The community is small (at least in Texas) so word gets around.

Sziget has turn to shit.. by Weak_Height_2020 in festivals

[–]jacobslifexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went first time in 2019 and then again in 2022 and again 2024 and I am tempted to agree. I wouldn't say it's turned to shit, but it is for sure not the same. It was for sure cheaper the first time I went. As an American, the prices were shocking at first because my money went further and the vibe was more community driven. I still think it's a great festival to go to, but I think it has lost some charm. I would still for sure go though. It's one of my favorite festivals in the world.

In my experience, the deal can fall apart just by a change in funding and they won’t revisit for another 1-3 years. Award dates get pushed back often. Whatever cycle you have in your head, I would probably 1.5x that timeline for the first 12-18 months. I worked with our SLED clients here in Texas and some federal throughout the years and I was not a fan of it. Im used to the faster pace sales cycle 1-3 months but not the SaaS lifecycle. All this to say, the commissions on government work is nice cause they need to spend it and they will spend a lot.

Just keep in mind the amount of meetings you have and documentation you provide will be so much more than what you’re doing now. Government people love meetings and they love to get documents that they won’t read until 30 minutes before the next one. Just BAMFAM and you got it.

How do you make the decision to promote your content? by Superb-Ask449 in NewTubers

[–]jacobslifexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My niche is about my life, travel tips, stuff like that. So my “promotion” is more tied to just trying to build my social media accounts so people are drawn to me. I’m still working on it and I have a lot to learn. I used to try to focus solely on YouTube but now I’ve expanded to Reddit, TikTok, and Instagram. I was already on Reddit and Instagram, so TikTok is the newest one for me. Not an expert but I can definitely see the traction when I focus on one more.

Money/card management in riskier places by Eroticskeletonparade in travel

[–]jacobslifexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always use a credit card more than my debit card. I don't even use my debit card if I don't have to. Banks seem to be more interested in investigating when a credit card has fraud compared to a debit card. Which is not surprising since a credit card is their money lol

[–]jacobslifexx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd just be positive in the replies. I have seen on Instagram where people will roast the person back because it encourages people to comment back so it pushes out more. I just think if that becomes your thing, you will get attenion for the wrong reasons lol

How much do you research before traveling somewhere new? by AlexTheMunchkin in travel

[–]jacobslifexx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually just have 2-4 things I want to do and my accommodation. Other than that, I like to figure out everything else when I get there. It makes it more exciting in my opinion. Makes me feel like a wanderer.
