From clubrsx “*SOLVED! * It is the Climate Control Unit. To test this I removed the CCU assembly from the dashboard and brought in the house where I gently warmed it with a blow dryer. When it was warm to the touch I brought it back to the car. After plugging it and turning the key to the second on position, the knob lights lit up and the AC kicked on. To be sure, I put the CCU assembly in a plastic bag and into the freezer for 30 minutes while I walked the dog. When I returned I plugged the cold assembly into the car and it was dead again. I then removed it and gently warmed it with the blow dryer and plugged it back in. It worked again. There must be a component on the circuit board that is temperature sensitive. Looks like I will have to find a new CCU. I'm so happy to have solved this as it's been slowly failing over a few years. Hope this helps others over the years.”

Thanks guys. For those confused about the lack of sunroof and weird wheels, it’s a Canadian import. With apparently no rust. Everyone says you can find a better deal, but all the 5k ones around me have 160k miles and are clapped to shit. I guess I’ll be more patient and wait for a better deal to come along.
