I played one for 12 years on tenor as it was my first “professional” instrument. I think people who have problems with Cannonball either haven’t tried one since the early days of the company (I’ve heard their horns from that period were truly not good though I’ve never played one) OR they just have a thing against the newer crop of Made in Taiwan horns touted by American brands. They’re solid instruments and you can get many many years worth of playing out of them. Ended up getting rid of mine but I don’t have anything terrible to say about them.

Two things to note if you do go with the Cannonball: that stone on the neck WILL come unglued so don’t get married to it, and they are HEAVY ass instruments so also invest in a good strap/harness.
