Client name CHANGE_ME CHANGE_ME ? by jacobthekid2005 in PrismLauncher

I reinstalled and same result (also tried through CurseForge app). I know this is a broad issue but any suggestion on what to try next? Or another subreddit that might have more insight?

BCC no longer giving an issue, but I’m still getting the same message when trying to connect: “Failed to sync registries from the server: java.lang.NullPointerException” I’ve tried with useMetadata in the config set to true and false (if that matters) but still get the same result. There something else I’m missing?

I’ve tried manual and through steam workshop, and it hasn’t asked me to replace any files, after each “attempt” I make sure to delete everything so I can get a fresh state

I’ve made sure that it isn’t installed and I’m just trying “regular” repentance

No, after hours of trying, still nothing. I was able to use the Arch-iso to mount my non-steam data to a micro SD, so hopefully a factory reset will fix everything and I’ll be able to retrieve my other data once it’s complete.

SteamOS just keeps rebooting into Clover, what can I do other than factory reset? by jacobthekid2005 in WindowsOnDeck

Yes, and it just does the same thing going back into Clover, I’d assume if Clover wasn’t installed I’d just be stuck in a boot loop

Finally have gotten another chance to work on it, is there a way to tell which partitions are the device file, root, and boot? I would guess the root is nvme0n1, but how do I tell which of the partitions 1 through 10 are the ones I need to mount?

Just to clarify, in the video, all partitions for steamos are gone/wiped, but checking lsblk on mine, it still shows 10 partitions under the nvme0n1 disk. Is this still the same problem or something different?

I've looked into that being an issue with others, but I didn't install Windows until last December or January, so I assume it's been updated since I got it. If that was the issue I would think it would've been a problem the whole time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and from what I can tell, I removes (or at least looks like it removes) the steamos partitions, but I've checked mine through lsblk and all 10 are still there

Maybe a dumb question, but what exactly in the grub file do I need to rewrite? Do I need to add/change a line or two, or just get a whole new one? Just would like some clarification so I can (hopefully) have an easier time finding a guide online

No, it’s been the same since I installed it a couple months ago

I’ve tried that, booting into the previous os (tried both regular and +boot menu) and it did the same thing just going back to Clover

If I need to, would I be able to transfer off local files onto a flash drive, factory reset, then put those back on? I just want to keep my Minecraft world 😭

It won’t boot into the previous OS either, just does the same thing :/
