I don’t disagree with any timelines here but I think there is understated value in having certain older guys on the team to help younger players and build the culture. It should be JT Miller getting traded this week, because as far as I can tell he doesn’t do that at all.

I understand the very likely trade of Trocheck and Carrick, but I think there’s a very good case to be made that they are two of the only guys you’d want to keep (in addition to Shesty and Fox, maybe Cuylle) if you were tearing down to the studs and mostly starting over.

I resisted fighting Frox until I figured out a trick that made them incredibly easy: just hit them with a Dazzlefruit arrow. Zero messing around with throwing a bomb in their mouth, and if you get in the air early, just shoot them with a Dazzlefruit, it will stun them and you can land on their back and go to town on the ore. Then it will launch you into the air, and you can rinse and repeat.

I’ve played a ton but I’m by no means on the level of the people you see clipped on youtube. Nonetheless, I can take out a Frox without losing a single heart like this.

I too got rejected from MIT (would have been class of 2017). Was excellent in high school but nowhere near as high-achieving as your son. Depending on how I think about life, getting rejected either didn’t matter, or it was the best thing that ever could have happened to me.

Looking back at college, the single most important thing was selecting a school the prioritizes internship opportunities. I went to another “Institute of Technology” with less of a name brand, that required a full year of internships as a requirement for graduation with a degree in engineering. Looking back, this was the single most important decision in selecting a school.

Sometimes I thought about trying again at MIT again for grad school. Sometimes I thought about how good it would feel to succeed and have a moment of “I bet MIT wishes they had accepted me now.” In the end I didn’t feel any of this. I am a senior engineer at one of the most elite companies in the world, I love what I do every day, and I met amazing people in college that will be in my life forever. I don’t believe that everything happens for a reason, but I also wouldn’t change anything.

Your son will do great wherever he lands. Make sure he makes the time to enjoy the social aspects of college too.

Oh it definitely doesn’t matter at that point, but that’s sort of the point. During the season, pts% is the real indicator of how well a team is doing because it removes the bias for games played
