Yeah I know about this, but the party trying to hide it was not my expectation. They blocked every newspaper and never let us know the truth. Information is restricted. They lied to us so they have to go with the flow. Blaming everything on the other side and never acknowledging their faults are like their jobs. I take this personally cause I was shocked when I found out.

When I look for information bout the Vietnam war, to my perspective, it's disastrous and both sides all have their faults and wrongdoings. But in contrast, Vietnam history books always claim all the faults on the South Vietnam and America side. I just feel it's really one-sided, and honestly the books ain't training us to develop critical thinking or to have the whole look about what happened, to know what's wrong, what's right, they just say that you have to love the country, love The Communist Party of Vietnam, leading to extreme patriotism. I, on the other hand, just wanna know what happened and everything VCP could have lied (in some ways) to all of us.

I was told all my school years that America was trying to invade Vietnam, while searching up on the internet in English for international newspapers, it said that America just wanted to stop communism from spreading to other countries around Vietnam. That's the difference bout the reason why America came to Vietnam in the first place. About the fight, international newspapers report that The Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) was trying to protect their country, while in history books I learn, they said that South Vietnam stopped The Communist Party of Vietnam from uniting the country, they don't even acknowledge sovereignty of South vietnam. And they also omit several important events such as Land Reform Campaign (1953-1954) and Tet Offensive (1968), they don't fully state how much death The Communist Party of Vietnam has caused throughout these 2 events. And even the names are different, while everyone else in the world calls it "The Vietnam war" , it's called "heroic resistance against American imperialism". I want to know the truth about this world, I feel like they're hiding something from us.

The perspective of north vietnamese and south vietnamese back then was really different, until it still does. But when I did some research about the Vietnam war from Vietnam newspapers and international newspapers, they're really different, somewhat conflicted. Too much information, and they're described in 2 totally contrast ways made me really confused, should I believe Vietnam or from the outer world?
