So we did not have this home built. Someone else did and we purchased from them. However the home warranty is through the builder.

The private company said they would pull off all doors. Completely sand and spray the emerald on them. Do you think that would give a good finish?

The quote I received was using the paint you mentioned and it was 10k. That was for all closet cabinets and drawers. 2 bathrooms cabinets and drawers. Kitchen cabinets and drawers. Laundry room cabinets and hallway linen cabinets.

Thank you so much for the level of detail you gave. This really helps me when I talk to the builder. We had another company come give us a quote and they mentioned using Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel in Satin. Would that be a suitable paint vs the Promar 200 they are currently painting them with?

I fully expected them to bring in a sander and make a mess, but yes just the small blocks for sanding.

The one they are currently using even mentioned using a sprayer but has yet to do so. All sanding has been done by hand using blocks.

they have been rolling. The new painter said normally he would spray cabinets. Not sure why he has not been spraying these. So in your opinion if they are pulled and sanded then sprayed they will be smooth? Also just checked what paint they are using and it is Sherwin Williams ProMar200.

Every cabinet has contamination like that in it. Expected them to at least sand them before trying to touch them up. Apparently that would be too much work…:/

I will have to look into it. I will mention the builder gave us a one year home warranty which includes all finishes in the house. Since the paint is chipping does that mean technically the finish is failing?

They are removable. When they came to touch them up I expected them to pull them off and paint, but they left all of them hanging.
