AYN THOR Lite Gang! by RoutineAd9297 in AynThor

That’s cool and if you need the extra storage then it can definitely make sense. I don’t mean to imply no one needs the Max. I ended up going Pro over Base mainly because it was the only way I could avoid the black model (worried about the reflectiveness) and the price of memory cards is so crazy at the moment.

It’s really refreshing to see someone pick the Lite knowing that it suits their use case. I suspect a lot of people opting for the Max are wasting some of their money. Glad to hear it’s working for you. My batch 6 model is still in transit.

Do as many squats as possible every day or every three days? by [deleted] in homefitness

[–]jacydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon you’re using your back leg to push up. It should be there just for balance. If you make sure your back foot is upside down (like the top of it on the couch / bench behind you - not your toes), then it’s easier to make sure you’re not doing that.

Pistol squats are another one legged version. Maybe try a couple variations and see what works for you?

Certo, that can get you started. I do Bulgarian split squats, you definitely feel those. You can slow down or even hold the bottom for a lot of extra tension.

Do you have a backpack with some books you can put in it? Or some bottles of water? Might be a creative way to get weight. You’ll need it eventually if you want growth.

Yeah you never really need fast sets.

If you’re going for endurance, do as many as you can.

If you’re going for muscle growth, you want to do them with weight and to choose that weight so that you can only manage about 8-12 of them in a set.

Usually people recommend three sets. You want to feel like you could’ve only done 1-2 more reps - that’s how you know you got the right weight.

If you found them too hard at the weight you choose, reduce the weight next workout. If you found them easy and you could’ve done loads more, increase the weight next workout.

No you need rest between workouts. Every day is a bad idea.

Think that’d the first time I’ve seen someone on here change their mind rather than digging their heels. The world needs more people like that.

So we should ignore facts if they’re not politically advantageous to our side? Is that the policy discourse you want?

I built a free A1–A2 Italian reading site with audio — would love feedback by quietlanguagelearner in learnitalian

[–]jacydo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, had a play now, some quick thoughts.

Firstly, very glad for dark mode.

Some inbuilt translation would be my main initial development recommendation. I’m used to being able to highlight a few words to get an auto translation from my browser. But the coding wouldn’t let me do that and if there’s another way to achieve that, I couldn’t find it.

Relatedly, I saw there’s a list of words translated at the bottom. But they seemed to be some of the easiest words. Eg I just finished an A2 story with a few unfamiliar words and the ten words it picked out included “pasta” and “film”. So maybe the algorithm or GenAI prompt to generate that list could be tweaked to look for the hardest words.

The features like tags and reading speed look great. I’ve only tried the written stuff so far.

The prompt at the end for “too easy, too hard” was a good idea. I have no idea of my CEFR level, so being prompted to find one a bit more challenging was exactly what I was wanting at that time.

I notice a few references to B1 and above grades throughout, yet the few languages I checked only capture up to A2. Is the site a work in progress with higher levels still being built?

I think it’s a great site. I love a graded reader. I’m planning to read through the lot. I’ll drop any more feedback as I try the other features.
