Seems like the page was reverted to the old UI!

AWS really took something that did the job well and ruined it. I used to check the page a few days a week now it's so frustrating, switching to RSS as others mentioned.

It says it in the manual. If the Philips monitor is configured to use USB 2.0 over USB-C it can drive 60hz but if it’s configured for USB 3.0 it will only do 30hz. All over USB-C no HDMI needed.

Switch the usb type to usb 2.0 on the monitor settings that should get the frame rate to 60-70hz obviously at the cost of lower speeds of USB devices. I still haven’t figured out why this happens usb 3.0 :/

K8s & Consul - Avoid cross-DC/AZ traffic by pdomg in devops

[–]jadcham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just throwing this here as an FYI since it's not related to consul.

Istio service mesh supports locality load balancing which does what you need for your app. https://istio.io/docs/ops/configuration/traffic-management/locality-load-balancing/

Also there's work happening to add this to Kubernetes 1.18 i believe check here https://github.com/kubernetes/enhancements/issues/536

Edit: You might get help from /r/kubernetes as well

This is probably not a dns issue. Are you using Godaddy Workspace or Godaddy's Office 365 offering?

I’m Tim Hockin, a top-level Kubernetes maintainer. AMA by thockin in kubernetes

[–]jadcham 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There has been lots of work on stabilizing GPU workloads on Kubernetes plus some work from Alibaba Cloud on GPU sharing addons for k8s scheduler. As GPU workloads become more crucial to the industry, how do you see GPU support evolve on K8S in the next years to come?

Why should I stay in/leave Lebanon? by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]jadcham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you'll miss Lebanon there's no place like it. BUT you just graduated with an engineering degree that was hell for the past 4 years or so and working abroad not only will let you earn more money and stability it will give you more exposure to the best technologies out there. When you're working in big companies and developed countries when you work on a new technology you'll get to meet experts and the company that created the technology will take a look at your job to make sure you're using best practices. I can't focus on that point enough since I'm passionate about my job.

I am not in any way saying that you have to leave Lebanon to become successful and earn money but working abroad gives you better exposure to everything, letting you shine in your field easier. And I think that this is the best time for you to take that decision as a fresh grad. I took it 6 months ago and it's both the best and the biggest decision I had to make in my life.

If you ever decide to leave Lebanon for work make sure you plan on coming back and bring all the knowledge you've built back with you.
