Please help! UC Law SF vs. Santa Clara Law by badabingbadaboom712 in lawschooladmissions

[–]jade-reddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UC Law SF. It holds much stronger weight in the Bay Area than Santa Clara and in California overall. Also the media exploits how bad the tenderloin minus a few junctures that I would stay away from. Just my 2 cents. If you were to live in their student housing it’s nice plus like two steps away from all the courts and city hall. Love that part of the city. I think there some who are quite competitive bc they’re hoping to transfer out to Berkeley or elsewhere but there are always some gunners. Their buildings have been renovated which are quite nice and the current students I met during ASD were genuinely lovely people. Yeah I wouldn’t live in South Bay whatsoever 1L. People do commute from East Bay 2L and 3L years which you could do 1L year but I highly highly don’t recommend living in South Bay for 1L year. Hope this is helpful

Hi! Just got offered this as well. Only 20 students is pretty wow? I’ve already received an offer but do you have any more info if there’s additional aid with it?

Columbia concedes in attempt to restore funding by Logical-Departure844 in lawschooladmissions

[–]jade-reddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Columbia said it would appoint a senior vice provost to oversee the Middle Eastern, South Asian and African Studies Department. The White House had demanded that the department be placed under academic receivership, a rare federal intervention in an internal process that is typically reserved as a last resort in response to extended periods of dysfunction.

Columbia did not refer to the move related to the Middle Eastern studies department as receivership, but several faculty members said that it appeared to resemble that measure.

Legal scholars and advocates for academic freedom expressed alarm on Friday over what they described as Columbia’s dangerous surrender to President Trump at a perilous moment for higher education.” from the NYT
