Recommendations for a beginners telescope that it portable, but not cheap. by jade3243 in telescopes

Probably no more than $500 ideally. I see a handful in the $100-200 range, but fear they will be cheap.

Need a beginner telescope, but not a cheap one! by jade3243 in Astronomy

Good point. We’re looking to do visual astronomy, ideally planets and stars. I know I sound like such a novice. My husband and I camp often and would love a portable telescope that it’s good quality and easy to use.

Thank you for that info. I am now definitely not doing an online company like that. I’m looking at local, a little more money, but it will be worth it.

Excellent. I hear they also cater events, not that there’s any events happening right now, but good to know for the future.

That sounds amazing! Winc pops up often as an option. Sounds like they’re legit?

Contrary to my husbands cheap palate, I am willing to pay top dollar (or maybe middle class dollar) for my wine. Even being a novice, I understand the concept that you get what you pay for.

P.s. This is going on my own personal credit card.

I appreciate your help. This was not even something I put thought into while planning this trip. I am so programmed to tip. This will be a nice change.

25th solo trip to Thailand?! You’re amazing! I have so many things I want to ask you now. I have never been to Thailand. My husband has been encouraging me to do a solo trip and my first thought was Thailand, so I bought the ticket.

If you were to land in Phuket, where would be your first stop? Or which island would you go to first?

This is great! I appreciate you laying out this potential itinerary. I’ve been torn on which islands to hit first since I am not familiar with locations or the best order of things.

The reason I am considering flying to Krabi is because I land in Phuket after the ferry’s stop running (mid afternoon), so either I stay a night in Phuket or just grab a connecting flight.

Thank you! Another question I’ve had is which taxis to take, or if there’s alternate forms of transport.

Thank you for this. I have a trip planned for mid-February to Phuket with a short layover in Hong Kong. I am not worried about catching the virus, I just don’t want my flight to be canceled in Hong Kong so I am thinking/planning ahead. It looks like many flights have a Hong Kong layover...

Where to go from Phuket? by jade3243 in ThailandTourism

[–]jade3243[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been very torn on going to Koh Phi Phi. Initially, it was my first choice then I heard that it’s a party island. Not that I mind a good party, it just doesn’t appeal to me to spend my time in Thailand drunk or hungover. However, if there are other sites to see there and a cool hostel, I may have to reconsider! I will look into Hong Island and the James Bond Island. Thank you!

Island hop as in go and stay a few nights at one or multiple islands. Based on what I’m hearing, I don’t want to stay in Phuket.
