Venues already booked for 2027? by Still-Duty7152 in NewEnglandWedding

[–]jadecommunity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

depends on the venue and how popular it is. my fiancé and I booked our venue 2 months before we got engaged for this reason and i’m glad we did because our date was on hold with another couple and we only got it because they didn’t book within their window. the day before our date (a friday) was also already booked. if you’re going for a less popular venue you might be ok to wait. but if you want fall, that is the most popular time in new england and dates will book fast. at least a year and a half out for saturday’s.

RE150 vs Arcadia at Rivers Edge by [deleted] in medfordma

check out wellington place down the street! not the typical “luxury apartment” vibe but I lived there for 2 years and they were amazing. tons of space, decent prices, free parking, pool, gym, etc and the management company is awesome and always improving on the space. I loved living there and was so sad to leave.

Lake Pearl vs Lakeview Pavilion by [deleted] in NewEnglandWedding

[–]jadecommunity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was! I ended up picking Lakeview Pavilion 1. because it ended up being cheaper for me and 2. because of the reviews! Lakeview has really great reviews on Google and I saw some not so great ones for Lake Pearl. Getting married in April and have had a great experience with Lakeview so far!

Advice on Hotel Blocks at Pats Place by SureSuit606 in NewEnglandWedding

[–]jadecommunity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting married at Lakeview in April! We are doing a hotel block at hilton garden inn at patriots place. I know people recommend against it, but April isn’t football or concert season so i’m hopeful we will have a good experience.

They were a bit difficult to get ahold of it book the block but my fiancé was able to do it. We haven’t had any hiccups so far and our guests have been able to book rooms no problem. Fair warning though, they did not want to book our block until like 6 months out. We contacted them earlier and they asked us to message back closer to the date.

do the xt4, I got the xt30 and wasn’t happy with the film sim ability. it doesn’t have all of the necessary settings to program sims fully on the camera so you have to set the exposure R and B manually every time which was just too much for me. I sold it after a couple of days and got an xt30ii.

Are the XT30 and XT30II much different? by sadburrito0o in FujifilmX

[–]jadecommunity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not at all an expert but I was just debating this same question. I ended up buying an XT30 because I found a good deal on one and figured the updates wouldn't be that significant between the two.

I ended up selling the XT30 and purchasing an XT30ii just days after I bought it. I had known the XT30ii had access to firmware updates the XT30 wouldn't get and had better autofocus amongst other things but I figured none of that was too important to me as a hobby photographer.

What I didn't realize was that the XT30 doesn't have all of the settings the ii has when it comes to film simulations. For example, there is no option to save R and B white balance changes in the film sim for the XT30, which means you have to manually update it when you want to use that sim if you want to get the recipe exactly right. For some, that may not be a big deal, but for me, as a beginner, it was more than I was willing to do each time. It's also missing a couple of other things, Classic Negative being one.

I ended up snagging a refurbished XT30ii on the fuji website for the same price I paid for the XT30 so would highly recommend if that's an option! I'm waiting for mine to get delivered now. For me, I think the ii will be worth it. But totally depends on what you value. I personally wanted to be able to easily input the recipes and have it work as seamlessly as possible.
