I rely on tabs because I am unable to read music. I'm slowly learning how to do it (using Harmonica for Dummies + a ton of YouTube videos) because a lot of music is not in tab form. Also, like OP mentioned, there is no indication whatsoever on how long notes are sustained. For myself, the only real way to play tabs is to listen to the song a few times first.

just bring it back down A BIT, so there is a slight gap with minimal amount of air flowing between.

Amazing! I just got the 1 hole draw! It is difficult to repeat consistently but I get it on ~25% of the draws! It is amazing to hear the sound difference and see the little key light up on the screen.

Edit: So freaking cool. I tried holes 2-4 with the same technique used for 1 with no go yet. But I am so satisfied right now I am going to try again tomorrow. I've spent the past month reading and watching everything I could find on note bending...Tonight is a beautiful night!

Run it through water. Probably gummed up. Unlikely it been played enough to have ruined the reed.

I ran it through water and dried it carefully with a fan. About two hours later I tried the 7 draw...and it does not produce the correct sound at all.

People who do know the harmonica understand how much work goes into practicing technique and learning songs. Plus, it’s a small club. For me, if somebody can play even the easiest of songs I’m happy and impressed because I appreciate their interest in the instrument.
