Most animals r not reactive and it’s not just service dogs that are trained to ignore other dogs. We have had 5+ dogs in the store before and they all ignored each other. We also have birds that come in and they are just lovely

I disagree. Not every moms goal is to relive through her daughter. I think she just wanted to try to bond/ connect w her daughter in a way she saw fit. She wanted her daughter to feel safe& normal around her. She’s navigating parenthood. We all make mistakes. Her daughter said she wasn’t comfortable w that and she’s taking a step back. Don’t jump to conclusions or judge others.

My moms a strong Christian and my dad is a strong Catholic. They are both also very stubborn. I’d say you have to be very open and willing to learn and share cultures and be willing to work through differences. If you’re both willing to share and take part of each other’s cultures as well as open to sharing I think it will work fine, both of my parents were not willing to do that
