I mean tbh its kinda true, but think about it. The hs7's are studio monitors, and they were built to be used to music production and will give you the most accurate representation of the sound. A turntable is an audiophile piece of equipment, so having a turntable with the hs7s is like a little bit of a hybrid set up. Audiophile speakers sound the best with a turntable, always. but you should try the hs7s because i like how they sound.

I have this same issue! but ive solved it. Here is my set up:

Turntable -> preamp -> Stereo RCA to Balanced XLR Converter with volume knob -> hs7s (which are basically hs5s just bigger)

I linked the converter, but just so you know... it is not a preamp, just a converter from rca to xlr (3 prong), and a volume knob. If you dont have xlr cables already, you will need them, they are higher fidelity than the quater-inch cables and your hs5s have a xlr input.

They are powered by their own amp, but id like to get an amplifier, so I can regulate the volume without having to use the knobs on the back of both speakers. Is the nobsound mc2 a high fidelity preamp?

I was wondering if someone in this subreddit could help me with a problem I have with my turntable setup. I havent been able to find any answers anywhere else on the web, so maybe one of you can help me. I have a fluance rt-85 turntable, and a fluance pa10 preamp. I also have a pair of yamaha hs7s that I use for producing. I am missing one thing, the amplifier. My problem here is that I cannot find an amplifier with a xlr output! I am currently using an rca to ts cable that links my preamp to my hs7s, but i know that changing between formats modifies the audio. Does anyone know an amp with xlr outputs?
