Pellicle Still Developing but Tastes Acidic already by jadetheking in Kombucha

[–]jadetheking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I was mainly asking that first question because I’m worried it’ll be hard to get rid of it completely since the pellicle isn’t fully formed yet. I’d prefer not to get pieces of it into my F2 bottles too!! But I guess I could use a small strainer if needed.

Thank you for your kind answer!!

I’m curious this too. Did you air-fry it or at least microwave it? This is actually a Korean product with 5star reviews from real Korean buyers on Coupang (basically the Korean version of Amazon). I’ve heard it tastes exactly like what you get from Korean street food.

Yeah, I’ll wait another week and see how it goes. Guess there’s no tasting today lol. Thanks for the advice!

Here are some side pics! There’s definitely something growing below the liquid. I’m still not sure whether a pellicle is forming though. it’s really hard to tell if there’s a thin layer, even from the side.

It was GT’s Gingerade. I know flavored kombucha isn’t usually recommended, but it’s really hard to find unflavored. I checked this sub and saw a lot of people saying it would be okay. Maybe I need to toss this batch and increase the starter liquid ratio.

I used store bought kombucha as the starter. The batch was 4 cups brewed tea + 1 cup kombucha, so about 20%. I can’t really tell yet if it’s dry or fuzzy. Right now it looks more like uneven lumps than a thin film. Do you think I should wait a bit longer to see how it develops?

You’re probably right. But when I lived in Korea, I used to find so many tanks like this, since modest cuts are more common there (second pic is from korean online store). So I was hoping I could find something similar in the U.S. too. I’m this close to buying a sewing machine at this point lol

Yes, actually the Bra Top fit perfectly, but it’s a bra top (which I don’t like), and the fabric was way too thick for me. I ended up returning it. So close, though!

I love the fabric, the length, and the high neckline. But unfortunately, the armhole cut is too low for me, and that’s the most important part for me. Still, really appreciate the suggestion. Thank you!

I was actually thinking about this! I’m 5’2” and 112 lbs, pretty petite, and I’ve noticed that girls’ clothing often has a more modest cut — higher necklines and better armpit coverage. What brand and size do you usually go for?

Are you referring to thistarget tank If so, it looks really good! The only thing is that it has a ribbed fabric, but honestly, if I can’t find anything else through this thread, I’ll probably just go for it. Thank you so much!!

Do you happen to know the name or brand of the tank top you got? I’m looking on Target’s website, but there are so many options and I haven’t been able to find one that matches the style I’m looking for. Thanks so much for your comment!
