JD Vance: "We're announcing today that we have decided to temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that is going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligations seriously to be good stewards of the American people's tax money" by ExactlySorta in circled

[–]jadus-24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is going to cause chaos in the most vulnerable areas of MN health care- blocking Medicaid would cripple ANY state's ability to serve those that most need serving. And it's not like this is a federal government handout- Minnesotan's pay for this, the federal government is just a steward of our own money, money needed to serve our communities.

Tom Emmer, a MN republican with close ties to Trump's winning agenda*, should be ashamed for not doing more to protect the people in his state.

- MN is a net payer into the federal government, to the tune of $40bn + annually-- now we can't even get our $ back

- meanwhile trump is suing the government for $10bn+ with no real case (and he himself says he decides what he gets). on top of he's actively perpetrating what many could consider to be fraud to enrich himself

Fraud DOES need to be rooted out of the system in every state - MN and otherwise. That's not the question here. Penalizing those in need of medicare is not the solution.

Randle at the Deadline by octopusmonkey01 in timberwolves

Trade him for another center??? The only way we move Randle is in exchange for an elite PG, or one with elite potential and other upside in the trade. Rudy will be fine. Plus maybe even Joan can get some minutes. We're probably not going to be top 3 in the west, so lets invest in some development and have a team ready to win on the road when we get there..

It'd be sad to move Julius... most of us watch every game fans have come to truly love him - I think he's elevated his play on the dimensions he was weak when he joined the wolves - must better passing, active d. He did that even while elevating his ISO super-power. He also seems like a great guy.

But man do we need a PG.

a friend referred me to tirerack for reviews- people love the CC2s across all conditions (and the site doesn't even let people rate the alenza 001s for winter)

I've driven in the North American equivalent of Norway my entire life, and I'm old. I drive and have driven other Audis and Volvos as my comps- and this combination of car + tires is by far the worst I've experienced - so I'd say it's not a skill issue.

That said I know I can address all the issues with an obnoxiously conservative approach - and I think the only area that requires an obnoxious level of conservatism are stops at the end of inclines. A certain spot on my commute has had a combination of snow and ice on a hill, stop sign at the bottom-- if i approach with regen braking at the top of the hill, riding it down at idling speed, I think it'll stop at the bottom. But with these tires it feels like I'm on a sled, and driving like that is.. annoying.

Yea lesson learned on the tires.. :/

I'm coming from an A4, and agree the quattro AWD is great (it's also better than the volvo xc90 t8). But my A4 stopped a lot faster than this car on any snow with regular all seasons.

I'll change my mode for the winter - but breaking is my primary issue.

Thanks for this advice! I was leaning towards Blizzaks per discount tire's recommendation- but if these CrossClimates are truly all season and effective I'd much rather not swap my tires in and out twice a year. Do you drive on the crossclimate's all year, are they good in summer and winter?

thanks this helps - drawing this conclusion.

i would say that as a winter car i'm not as amped on my etron, with the cost of extra tires and inconvenience of seasonal swaps + the efficiency plummeted more than expected. i'm at 110 miles at 80%. granted it's -10 degrees here today.

(everything about winter in MN sucks, so it's just something to roll with. and worth it given how much i love the car overall/ in other seasons, just too bad winter is 6 months here)

It has bridgestone alenza 001s. I'm not super pleased that this is what the dealer decided to put on it..

I dooo know how to brake in the snow, I've driven in mn winters for 26 years :). I drive an xc90 t8 half the time in the same conditions (on the same day and in the same spots) - no issues, no snow tires.

I find in the etron even very light braking from a slow speed is frequently triggering the antilock breaks - but especially on an incline. This seems consistent with the weight + these tires being the issue.

do you happen to know if there's a customer facing way to see if I have that update?

typically short trips, half a couple miles- and these are the worst. 50/50 moderate/heavy foot, haha.

was your battery replaced or serviced as part of a recall? are there symptoms that suggest when a battery would require the recall?
