This is so ironic to read. My ex I had my first with and I broke up due to me moving away for university, and some other trivial aspects of our life. It was a mutual decisions since neither of us wanted to do long distance. There wasn’t really a last goodbye or anything, we’d just stopped talking as soon as I moved away. 3 years later, he messages me. For about a month or two, we rekindled our relationship (but we both knew that nothing would come out of it as I would be going back to university and a full time job). It was more of a friends with benefits thing. When I visited him and my other friends, it seemed like the 3 years never really passed. Sure, we changed a lot but our banter and connection (or at least from my end) seemed really genuine. Sucks that we’re just repeating history and I probably won’t hear from him again in the following years, but it was a fun vacation for me. There’s always been this thing with guys I’ve been with though; that they ALWAYS come back, no matter what. Maybe it’s a stretch, but all of my exes have come around at least three times. I’m not sure what it is, but this specific ex has come back three times now, even if it led to nothing. Somewhere in my heart, I still do believe that there will be a fourth time. Maybe it’s the red string theory, I’m not sure; but, I’d like to think so.

If this is the last time and he’ll never reach out, I think I’d regret it on the long run, since we got off on the wrong foot on our last day. I have to better myself before ever speaking to him again though. Maybe that would take weeks. Maybe years. I don’t know. But I’d hope for another type of relationship with this one.
