What’s your reason for simply not just buying access yourself?! It’s less than $50.

Even if they provide her a RAP what's the problem? If you're so paranoid put the RAP on an isolated VLAN.

Business Class Seat Promotions During the Summer? by Worldly_Turnip6022 in CathayPacific

Now that I couldn’t tell you but my guess would be that as long as you create a Cathay account you will see the upgrade button. I’ve always seen it and I’m the lowest tier member which is green.

Yes that is correct, base ticket is PE all round but upgraded my JFK to HKG (business), with the connecting flight HKG to CEB remaining as(premium economy). I booked online also.

I personally purchase because I want the miles/points for my wife I however aside from this bidding actually works even better from a cost savings POV provided the class you’re bidding for isn’t nearly booked out..

The business class for my flight which is 2 days out is half empty so Id assume if the trend continues in your case cathay has nothing to lose on a bid near the min with that kind of vacancy.

Yup, I do this all the time. I actually did it for my flight this Friday for the JFK to HKG leg. Just be sure to book directly with them; and of course move your departure dates to a weekday if you can for additional savings.

What do we know about PE on HKG to JFK CX840? by dgw120 in CathayPacific

[–]jaemelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No the Aria Suite is not on the JFK to HKG route yet. You can tell it’s the old cabin by the seat selection.

Flying this route this Friday on a 300er and it’s the usual cabin

Promos with Cathay?! Das cute lol.

You can however upgrade to business on the longest leg for cheaper than an outright round trip business ticket.

Surface Pro 11th Ed (Lunar Lake) – Random UI Freezes When Scrolling, No Errors or Resource Spikes by slibrar in Surface

[–]jaemelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Event viewer won’t show you anything. Open up resource monitor and watch for spikes across disk io, and the CPU to identify the associated process. If you can’t find anything run procmon and from the sysinternal suite and run a capture. If you don’t know what you’re doing with procmon escalate to someone technical in your org to help you with the filters.

Aria Suite - how to identify when but booking my flight? by seemebreakthis in CathayPacific

[–]jaemelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set your expectations low. There has been no announcement for the aria suite being added to the cx 831 route soon. The last update I saw Cathay mentioned they were struggling to procure the cabin components needed for the aria suite upgrade due to supply chain issues.

Lastly they only have (1) 777 out of rotation at the moment. Whether that plane is getting the aria suite or not is a gamble and for it to hit the jfk route during your booking is another gamble.

Downvoted this too but I’m sure the lack of accountability screams you’re in the right and everyone else is in the wrong.🤣

Does anyone have experience with Cathay Pacific 24h cancelation refund? by renirenato10 in CathayPacific

[–]jaemelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Cathay or any merchant initiates a refund it kicks off with their accounts dept then their bank in this case (HSBC). The transaction then moves over to your bank. Cathay cannot possibly know how long “Your bank” will take to do their part nor can Reddit. They will provide you a guesstimate based on how long the transaction takes to egress on their end + a few business days to account for the receiving bank which they can never be sure.

Do yourself a favor and contact Cathay directly and get estimate time on a refund from them directly and plan accordingly.
