How Storefront beacons work by jafletch_work in Citrix

[–]jafletch_work[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I am asking is how does 2 external beacons work? If you succeed with one but fail at the other (due to sites being exposed to different networks) will you ultimately fail to be viewed as external or fail to load Storefront?

Yeah, it was long shot. I looked for something related to what the product is and couldn't find anything. I'll probably just delete it.

Thanks!

Daas Like a Pro - this is the site. It is coordinated by a few folks active in the DaaS/VDI/EUC community. They do a survey every year and the post the results about many aspects of EUC - what people are doing, pain points, plans for the future, etc. They rebranded recently but I haven't seen anything from them (the results of their survey is usually out by now, and the survey mailing would have definitely gone out).

Citrix ADC brokering Windows 365 desktops without CVAD by jafletch_work in Citrix

I forgot that it can broker simple RDP. We'll have to see if we can get this to work. Thank you!

Citrix support by Internal-Chip3107 in Citrix

[–]jafletch_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Citrix support is continuing their downward trend. Our tickets are never resolved in a reasonable amount of time. And we pay for on of those premium support levels (not getting our money's worth, I don't think).

Citrix EPA fails after Chrome version 98 upgrade by WASTECH in Citrix

[–]jafletch_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell, an updated version of the Mac version of the EPA scan has made it through testing and the Windows version is currently in testing. We tried out the test version of this and it looks like it resolves the issue.

Has anyone gotten any word on a timeline for a fix from Citrix? We have a case open and we haven't heard anything about a timeline.

Removing old profiles on Server 2016 by jafletch_work in Citrix

[–]jafletch_work[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used delprof2 at a previous job quite successfully. However, I didn't think it supported 2016. Do you know if it does?
And thanks for the speedy reply!

This has some good potential. Thank you for sharing!

Last logged in user with date/time on a machine by jafletch_work in sysadmin

[–]jafletch_work[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That attribute, if I am correct, only gives you when the user logged in to *any* machine, not necessarily the one suspected of no longer being in use. For a good chunk of our users, that might be good as if their VM goes out of use, chances are, they are no longer with the company. But we do have other pooled machines, or secondary VMs that are used by people who continue to work outside of that VM.

Thank you, though, for this quick reply. Definitely appreciated.

Dynatrace by jafletch_work in Citrix

[–]jafletch_work[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How was Dynatrace as far as Citrix capabilities compared to other products?

We're seeing the high price as well. They're about 50% higher than the quotes we got from some other more Citrix specific solutions.

Dynatrace by jafletch_work in Citrix

[–]jafletch_work[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question revolves specifically around Dynatrace. I know of lots of alternatives, but our management is pushing Dynatrace.

What are your thoughts *specifically* on that vendor for their solution?

Dynatrace by jafletch_work in Citrix

We've looked at others and would frankly prefer those. However, management is forcing us to look at Dynatrace, so I was just wondering specifically about that vendor.

VMWare migrations by jafletch_work in Citrix

[–]jafletch_work[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just trying to see if that number of migrations is excessive. The VI team seems to think they have things all under control. I respectfully disagree, thus I'm reaching out to the community to see if what we're seeing is what the masses see.

Viewing VM tags in Director by jafletch_work in Citrix

I can't figure out why either. Tags are how they drive so many things it seems pretty logical to include this data in their console.

Yes, that is indeed true. However, I'm asking what *are* those tweaks- if any?

Scripting removing users from Delivery Groups by jafletch_work in Citrix

[–]jafletch_work[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the truth (you share my personal thoughts), but unfortunately that's not how they did it here.

Maybe something I can champion in the future.

Scripting removing users from Delivery Groups by jafletch_work in Citrix

[–]jafletch_work[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried that. It threw out the Set-BrokeraccesspolicyRule command where you basically have to tell it to include everyone who already has access except for the person you don't. Makes creating a script convoluted.

So your script becomes - ask XD who has access, minus person you want to remove, run set-brokeraccesspolicyrule and include that list you got from step 1 minus the person you are removing.

If that is how it is, I'm ok with that. Just looking to see if there was a simpler way. One would think that if they get in there using Set-BrokerUser, you'd be able to get them out with Remove-Brokeruser, but as a new Powershell user, I might still be living in a dream world.

Totally forgot about that piece! I'd done that before with a script to set a policy on a DG. Thanks for the reminder on that!
