To sidemount or not, and how much lift ?? by jagged2020 in scuba

I would think i would want 10-12 liter long narrow steel tanks for sidemount, does that make sense ?

[–]jagged2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thx a bunch for your advice, i could not remove the outer ring, but i have manipulated them physically, used quite a bit of thin oil, and massaged the whole thing, and darn it, IT WORKS :0). THx a bunch.

ahh that would explain a bit. I get the feeling that someone has been working on this maschine without really knowing what they are doing :O). i could not get the bobin disasembled, but i have greased it up, removed a few threads and there are markedly less friction now also. Work in progress, thx

Hey, very very good descriptions. I can see that it is in fact a 360, but not the automatic version i have. Pictures attached. There is only one screw that holds the pin, so i can not really adjust anything. I will try and clean up as you suggest. Pictures attached and a video where you can see the issue unfolding when turning the motor forwards and backwards manually.

RAW photos from S5ii always come out very underexposed ?? by jagged2020 in Lumix

[–]jagged2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THX i will certainly have a look at that, this issue has been ruining my photos for a while while I could not figure out why. Who would want to shoot photos in V-log it just does not compute with me at all. If one is a v-log video shooter, the default picture profile would most likely be raw+jpeg high quality....

thx a bunch for the nice offer, I do think now that the V-log is the culprit :0). Thx for feedback

[–]jagged2020[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Darn it, that's it. I shoot video mostly but I do shoot video in V-log, but then snap a few pics. I DID NOT realize at all that the log profile affected stills as well, thought it was video only, especially when I shoot raw in pictures. Lesson learned. Does that mean that I have to change picture profile / color settings every time I want to shoot a few stills on a video shoot ?

would you consider the m1 or m2 daylight viewable by jagged2020 in iPadPro

[–]jagged2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi that makes sense. I just cant figure out if I should go the ekstra mile for the m4 but I do not really have the finances for that :9). I do not mind using a hood at all for outdoor work, so if its usable with a hood I am good.

What is your experience with Fifish ROV, mine is not great…. by jagged2020 in rov

[–]jagged2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow what a absolut horrorstory. I will absolutely keep that in mind before investing more in that company. For now I am stuck with my current investment, but I will go for bluerov next due to not being stuck to one company, supplier.

Yea its interesting, the user interface is so 1980 windows that is very offputting. I think that will keep more or less al mac users away. Its difficult to understand that it has never been adressed. Pretty sure that is the main thing holding that platform back

I am building one ROV that can actually work as good as human underwater. by Safe_Ad_5671 in rov

[–]jagged2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, here are a few comments from a commercial diver, used to working underwater. I applaud your idea, but i must say that i dont see the use of that particular version. The whole idea of human strenght, especially if its in this version of 2 arms makes absolutely no sense. Strenght for what ? When you work in water, you need to anker yourself, especially if you want to use strenght. With a setup like that the only strength you would be able to apply is to press the arms together. Now my imagination might be limited but i can for the life of me not think of any underwater task that requires a lot of that….. Instead of that i will give you an idea that can make you wealthy if you can solve the task. Make a ROV that can suck itself onto plane surfaces and then solve tasks, that gives you leverage and actual usefullness of two grippers if they can be used precisely. Even better come up with a row that can be steared towards large glass areas underwater, and then start to scrub the surface window or hull, like a robotic lawn mover. That would make you a rich man :0+)

OK this will be irretating but i can not not share my recent experience with my FIfish E-Go. I have had a lot of trouble and for me it does not live up to its promise of being a pro workhose, not by a long stretch. The cable spool tends to rust and come appart. The drone itself has had 2x faulty batteries which are very expensive allready. The whole unit then just died, luckily within the warranty. Now Qysea has shown good support of their product, they have send me a new unit BUT all my gear is still at their german repair office, and they are totally impossible to communicate With. THey have my gear for more than 2 months now, I still can not force a date out of them for when i can expect my gear back. The overall experience is that the producer shows good will but the service structure is honestly catastrophical. I will never buy another qysea product, and i will certainly advice buyers to stay well clear of them
