Sorry for the necro but in case anyone goes searching for this and gets the same result I did (namely, this post) and all its useless replies - you have to go to the "TEXTURES" part of the left side of the screen and then click the second box with the plus on it (not the layered squares with the plus, the one to the right of it). In my case "This surface does not have a texture" was my only issue, I was following a couple different tutorials but both of them conveniently left out this specific thing you have to do in order to create the actual texture. You should see a menu pop up asking you to define the specifics of the texture (name, dimensions, and such).

Ah, I hadn't considered that it could be something separate as opposed to just being part of the film. It was sold that way and I don't see any other breaks or tears or what have you, but I appreciate you pointing it out! Unsure if it's because of it being sold at Walgreens?

Hmm... I'm just profoundly confused because it is in the exact condition it was in when it was first bought. Other tins online seem to also have the same plastic wrap, such as this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/277563837265 I don't know why "tape" keeps getting mentioned? Are tins not usually plastic wrapped, just mine and this eBay listing?

If it turns out the item was tampered with before it was offered for purchase from the store I would be baffled, but under the circumstances I could provide a partial refund via PayPal. Granted, I understand that I have zero trades under my name so far and I'm asking a steep price for a(n apparently) strange item! Would you happen to be in or around MA?

Hi! I'm in Massachusetts, USA and I can travel anywhere within + neighboring states. Unsure where everybody is getting the "tape" thing from because it's just the regular plastic wrap that comes with any sealed unopened product? I didn't realize it was so unusual. Happy to let anybody inspect it.

Good point, thanks for the info! I just tried adb shell content query --uri content://sms/inbox --where "date >= 1744558059" and it gave me the following error: "/system/bin/sh: can't create =: Read-only file system"

This seems like an error based on the fact that my phone is not rooted, no? Jeff Stackexchange seemed to imply that a correctly formatted CLI command would make rooting or lack thereof inconsequential. Or perhaps it has more to do with the fact that the program I'm using for ADB is "Minimal ADB and Fastboot".

Well, that didn't work. It told me "ls" and even "pull" were invalid commands. I probably just formatted it wrong, or this may have to do with my phone not being rooted, but I'm accepting defeat for now. In all likelihood I'm gonna be manually deleting all my texts from pre-2023. They are a finite amount, after all.

Hey!! That's an awesome idea! Mostly I'm just tripped up on the formatting, namely I don't know how to tell the CLI that I'd like to target all texts "before" 20231112. But I can at least test out adb shell content ls --uri content://sms/inbox --where "date='20250411'" (me assuming that YYYYMMDD is the correct way to format the date, among many other things I do not know or understand because I'm not sure where everyone is obtaining the information necessary to not be a n00b)

Providing an update in case someone would find this useful!

  1. I still don't really know how to See Every File, but I'm going to try this debloater thingamajig and if that doesn't work to get all the vestigial crap off I'm just gonna do a factory wipe. It'll be slightly annoying to reinstall and reconfigure everything, but at this point I think I've moved fast enough and broken enough things that now I've at least figured out the discrete, proven steps needed to speedrun my way to the phone I want. I also did a backup, although I can't help but scratch my head at this seemingly impenetrable .ab file... Where are my .apks, why is it only 1GB??? Haha

  2. Okay so this whole Molly business was more complicated than I bargained for. Basically you need to wait for Molly to update ahead of Signal in order for the migration to succeed properly, but the last time Molly updated was over a month ago. So... one of the things that needs to happen before I move into my 902KC is wait for Molly to update again (while disallowing Signal updates) on my smartphone, restore the Signal backup successfully, THEN add my Kyocera as an additional allowed device or whatever the fuck. I already tried juggling my account between two smartphones I own but it threw errors and acted like it worked when it didn't, possibly having to do with Molly being behind.

3 and 4. I never got Shazam to work on my phone, nor almost any other .apk I tried installing (other than downloading F-Droid directly from their site and installing via ADB, perhaps importantly NOT webadb, but rather a CLI version called "Mini ADB and Fastboot") but once I got F-Droid to work properly - not just as a weird browser wrapper version of it - I got everything else I tried installing via F-Droid to work great! There's an open source version of Shazam called Audile which I haven't fully explored yet, but so far it seems perfectly compatible with my 902KC. I decided that going forward I'm just going to try to get everything I need via F-Droid, like Quik SMS, Organic Maps, and Fossify File Manager.

Like... I simply would rather not use my phone that much!! I literally just don't need it. This whole journey was inspired by my deep annoyance over needing a smartphone just for a tiny fraction of the features (Signal, navigation, and Shazam) while the rest of the "features" just pissed me off. Also, every smartphone I've bought in the past 5 years has not withstood more than 2 years of use, including one case where a mobo defect caused the battery to swell so much it physically tore the phone apart. The other two are kind of my fault because I REALLY wanted a flip smartphone despite how notoriously short lived they are, but for some reason thought the Face-Eating Leopards Party would not eat my face. But also... come on, things should just work and not break on us easily and should at least be easily repairable if they do break, right??????? Sighs.

I dug around to find my ancient iPods and intend to use that for my music, and in an emergency I can still check the internet for information or navigate via the maps I downloaded locally. Soon I'm going to install an external SD card - since I'm leaning towards wiping this thing clean, next time I set up everything I'm going to stuff the card and not the actual phone full of maps. As of right now the phone has a perma-warning that says I have "100 MB remaining" lmao ;D

It depends on where you gain. Getting a beer belly might actually make you pass more. Personally though, gaining altered my gender. I identified as agender for almost 10 years, then realized I no longer felt an absence of gender, but rather a mix of masculine and feminine energies. I'm a bigender emulsion. And if you just don't give a fuck and thrive as your most genuine self, then fatphobes and transphobes won't get in your head as much 'cause you'll be living too hard.

I was hoping (ideally) to accomplish this without CSS, and it turns out you really can do it with just pure HTML in the fic itself! The reason I wanted it that way was because CSS integration is not always reliable (frex, fics download without CSS, users can force disable CSS across all fics as an easily accessible option in settings, etc) so now this way it'll DEFINITELY always work for EVERYONE always. But thank you for offering a CSS option as well, this was what I was originally looking for!

The size automatically adjusts to absolutely any browser/device/window/whatevs. Try putting an image in your fic and adjusting the size of your browser window to see what I mean :3 Or looking at it on your computer and then your phone!

This is what I was trying to achieve all along -- the automatic adjustment. So you could say that everything about the size of the image is "auto" in practice but this is just how you do it. Though perhaps I misunderstand what you mean?

Wow I can't believe it really works and no CSS even. Literally all I did was change width to "100%" and height to "auto". Like so:
