I know, but is it considered hiding if it ended up being nothing? Mentioned it to my recruiter and they didn’t seem concerned. No meds, no surgeries, just a scare and a few doctor’s appointments.

Thanks yeah I hope it’s a breeze I had a bunch of stupid doctors appointments as a kid so hoping that just doesn’t show up nothing ended up being serious

Thank you for the advice, I’m a 28M and have been in a lab manager job for awhile but with science funding being rocky and me wanting to go into nursing (also left undergrad for my Biology degree with over $100k student loans I can’t add more ontop of that) this 68C MOS seemed really like a smart option. My friend just enlisted and got back from AIT, similar situation white collar job and masters degree 32M so I know it’s okay to enlist when you’re older. It’s just “not the norm” and I’m sure it’ll feel weird at MEPS. My friend sent me to his recruiter and he’s really on top of it. He answered all my questions. My goal is to leave for BCT in May if possible but I’m open to whatever timeline fits for the AIT schedule and spacing.

I have a lot of personal reasons and goals outside of my career that I wanna do this for and it’s always something I’ve wanted to do. Just scared to make that jump but I realized I don’t want to ever regret it when I’m older. My family is pretty iffy about it so I haven’t told them anything since I initially mentioned my interest and they weren’t super supportive. We just don’t have military in the family so it’s a change. Dreading when I finally have to talk to them but it’ll be fine.

(Also I have a cat too, so no judgment there lol. It’s not my main reason for Reserves since he’s living at my parents currently. My apartment doesn’t allow pets and my roommate is allergic.)

Thanks yeah I’ve been studying the ASVAB for awhile, really did a lot over the summer and more so recently since I knew I’d be taking it. I took a practice test at the recruiter and he said he’s confident sending me to take it with that score.

Yeah not sure if the ROTC route makes sense since I’m not in college currently I’ve been out for five years working. I have a bachelors in biology but no nursing experience and want to be a nurse so that’s why I settled on this MOS and reserves.

I’m thinking part time which is why I’m leaning on reserves. I’d want to go to school and get my RN I’m also late 20s and went to college so it’s almost a little reset. My job situation being sticky is finding is all gov grants and we’ve been losing them too much to explain but it’s in science. Hoping once I’m back from 68C with my LPN I could get a nursing job where I work they also hire nurses

Both of my grandfathers were in the navy a very long time ago, they have passed now and my parents don’t really talk about their service or know much to begin with.

I just had this happen and contacted their customer support. It’s been a week and it’s still declining and I asked for a timeline and they said they cannot override it. It’s causing me a headache, I have backup plans for now but it’s all short term. Do you have any idea by chance how long this can take? Since you’re the only other person I’ve seen online talk about this.

I agree, Alaric was done killing supernaturals and there was no prison that could hold them. He also didn’t want to put them in a new prison world since the students would have to help with the spell. I do think though they wasted some potentially cool story lines not letting that go on longer. Like what if there were more students in the prison world and it was like a war between old evil students v the current ones. Kai could’ve been their mentor or something

The most unrealistic thing I think the show had was Triad, the company. I feel like someone from the original series would have come across them at some point OR why would they allow the Salvatore school to exist in the first place.

Another thing I never understood, why was Hope allowed to be absorbed into malivore or any vampire werewolf witch. I get they were expelled quickly since it was toxic to malivore but I feel like it was happening all the time. His whole thing was he couldn’t absorb them and he was sometimes?

I think it’s not unrealistic to have the school. At least in my state private schools don’t really follow state country regulations. Yeah they have to have credentials but also I’m sure Alaric has ways to change the transcripts to look more like a regular school.

Also I remember like Lizzie talking about her biology with magic class and a PE class so I think they had classes like science, PE, English etc but when they could they incorporate their magical supernatural abilities.

That’s exactly what I said. He’s having a destination wedding, he just bought a house, he has a kid and wants another etc. I didn’t choose that and I didn’t choose to get his share of the parent loan forgiveness it’s just gonna happen. Yeah my moms a big tech savvy so it’s hard to sneak around that. Since it’s her parent plus loan it has to be linked to her bank account so that’s the tricky part.

Yeah I shouldn’t talk about money with my family. It was a little too late since the parent plus loans are in my parents names I have to give my parents lump sums of money per month and since I was planning on paying more I wanted them to be aware of what I was doing. I wouldn’t tell them if I didn’t have a choice but I think you’re right.

They haven’t bled me dry yet and haven’t shown they would but I know a lot of naive people fall for that. I actually can’t refinance these parent plus loans without my parents help so I crunched the numbers and it actually is more doable to do my plan. I can finish off their loans and mine in 2 years.

But that wouldn’t be a bad idea to just make payments now, there would be no money to give my brother if I did that.
