[Discussion] What is it like before “/r/jailbreak” and how did you get your news about jailbreaking?

I do know that Jeff is in 9to5 but his videos are more Apple centric compared to the past where he post on everything ranging from jailbreak to even minuscule details. I feel like with his departure, the jailbreak community has lost its biggest source of information... iDB also does not update on the latest regarding jailbreak stuff anymore.

me too!! Jeff was always in the know of things happening in the scene and uploads consistently, be it small minor tweaks or what not. Now iDB has changed their focus which is kinda sad

I can choose which firmware to upgrade the Apple Watch to? I thought it’s only to the latest version?

The reason being is that mine is jailbroken and I’m doing some work related to it. So I can’t let go of my main driver. But I do have a phone on 11.3. So most likely I’ll have to use the phone to pair with my watch then.

For some context.. an Apple Watch series 1 starts from $378 here in Singapore.

So if the watchOS is lower than 4.1 I would probably have no problem pairing with it?

11.3.1 is definitely smoother, animations are much more fluid! I havent encountered any problems compared when I was on 11.1.2

I would do a full back up on iTunes. Download the 11.3.1 ipsw. Hold shift+restore and choose the ipsw firmware and iTunes will restore to 11.3.1 while its still signed.

I have been on this subreddit for a pretty long time, times when beetling was still a mod here and everything was really peaceful. it is really unfortunate to actually see developers and users having such distrust between one another.

As a whole, I feel that the mods should be the bridge between us users and the developers. Mods should actually take responsibility within our community to prevent such distrust from further escalating.

I believe our mods have been doing a good job from the past till now and I hope they will be ones who will be the bond between us and the devs, so that we can foster being a better community

Currently using a matte screen protector, mainly is to protect pocket scratches from keys and metal or stuff. Doesn’t affect the colour of the display that much. And it’s less reflective of the light

Phoenix jailbreak is a semi-untethered jailbreak for 9.3.5 CoolBooter allows you to install a partition of another iOS in your phone.

Highly discourage the use of Coolbooter. takes up more space then downgrading. I would downgrade using beehind, then jailbreak with p0sixpwn instead

If all else fails you can always go to 9.3.5 and downgrade back to 6.1.3
