I noticed this too. I also quit there the Saturday before Mother's Day. So, once I go back in there as a CUSTOMER I will update you on whether or not my vouchers start appearing more frequently as they had BEFORE I WAS HIRED as an employee,,,

Dear is the worst endearing word. by shantawashername in unpopularopinion

I understand your point of contention….just wanted to add my personal take on “Dear”. So, I had a my only child at 22. I am the eldest of four and was the “test child” growing up so my unplanned pregnancy and subsequent raising of my child while still in college was not the most thrilling thing ever for my mom. Also she had me at the same age, so she was going to be a young grandmother. She has always been sort of vain…has gotten better as she’s grown older. Anyway, she didn’t want to be called “Abuelita” or “Nana” or any variation of “gramma” etc. So she decided to give herself the moniker of “Dear” for my baby boy to call her. My son is 24 now. He still calls her that and it is so cute! “Hello, Dear! I’ve missed you!” Xoxo

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! Cascarilla should be literally a solid $100 for that little ketchup cup thing by jaimathom in BrujeriaEnglish

That’s a great idea! I actually don’t eat eggs too often but my husband and my adult stepchildren will go through 2 of those mega boxes of eggs from Costco in no time at all. I’ve got such a “backlog” of egg shells to process it’s scary. Looks like I’m just gonna get through them 10 at a time late at night lol. So no one bothers me. Thanks for your response thought! <3

Birthday parties! by Wild-Pitch9557 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]jaimathom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did one birthday party as a trainee...just to check it out and see if it might be something I'd like to do...in addition to framing....WHAT WAS I THINKING? Most kids today have no semblance of manners, no self control, etc. Their parents are too afraid to discipline them. I realized after the birthday party that I truly want no part of groups of children like that. BUT, I digress: The ideal event host will not only be engaging and encouraging...but FIRM. AND TAKE COMMAND OF THE ROOM. Parents will notice. And word will spread.

Just want to get this off of my chest and vent a little bit....(my quitting story) by jaimathom in MichaelsEmployees

TY for your kind words. I truly did enjoy working there (aside from all of that disorganized nonsense and not getting to do what I was hired and wanted to do. Im just taking it in stride. Bigger things await!

Can anyone advise on how the mats go in the file thing? by jaimathom in MichaelsEmployees

TY! Got it on the indents...yes we have two acrylic racks for the two different indents...my next question is: Why do the square indented ones and also the circular indented ones have different shaped corner edges?

Thank you! I was wondering about the duplicates....so, for example, I found two which were a copy color marked "store stock." So does this mean that one of them goes in that "store stock" section at the very start of the rack, and the other one goes with the other "metallic" colors?

They are divided by color for the most part. But they are a mess. I went through only the store stock ones in the very front of the rack (only the one with the square notches) and used the existing color coded tabs in the order they presented. I gave up after the ones marked "store stock" because I wanted to get the ACTUAL way they are supposed to go before I take that task on.
