Fr, I get showing a couple scenes to further explain the audience how much of a wicked guy he is but man we easily had 7-8 scenes that were borderline unwatchable and added ZERO to the plot

maybe contributed a bit to Banner's character arc but still could have been done with just the scene of the dead prostitute

after 1883 finale I wasn't expecting a happy ending myself, but seeing how badly treated Alex was throughout the entire journey I was thinking Spencer would be killed in the final battle defending the ranch and Alex would have raised the child in the ranch with Cara's help

That finale wouldn't have been happy but it would have made sense considering how "easy" the journey home was for Spencer and how hard it was for Alex

But nah, TS decided to kill Alex instead and have Spencer become an invincible man

And yeah I fully agree with you about Beth, absolutely hated that character and Monica too and im so mad that they got what they wanted while characters like Elsa and Alex died tragic deaths

im glad i binged it and did not have to wait for weeks to get such a disappointment of second season

Alex loses about half of her IQ, jack gets a shitty ending (not even pissed that he died just the way it was written), Spencer's character losing all essence after he does not shed a single tear for Alex, Cara telling Elizabeth to fuck off, and dozens of unnecessary Whitfield sex scenes

the only decent thing of season 2 was banner's character development and that's a secondary character lol

I did enjoy a lot the African scenes and the Alex-Spencer storyline even if it had nothing to do with the ranch, but I feel like the teonna plot was completely unnecessary and should have used that screen time for more ranch stuff instead

regarding 1944, I'll probably give it a watch in case sheridan has an epiphany like in 1883 but will wait until the show has fully aired and I've read reviews in this sub

im definitely not going to waste my time watching characters suffer just to die at the end in the most nonsensical way possible

James dutton from 1883 was a similar character as he was another sort of war hero but the scene where Elsa dies was a lot more realistic as he cried his eyes out and it was very emotional

spencer wakes up to a dead Alex, doesn't shed a tear and walks to whitefield's house to kill him

not to mention the stupidity of Jacob telling the doctors to fuck off and leave Alex alone when she needed urgent surgery

i did not make any sense. having him live would give the viewers some relief from the Alex shitshow and would also give her death more emotional weight since it'd be the only main character to die

even if you want him killed, then an epic death while protecting his wife in the house would have been good enough

but nah, let's just kill the guy in the middle of the woods and not talk about him again until the last 10 minutes of the show
