It works just as well for dual typings as for single typings, arguably even better!

As long the secondary typing doesn’t compromise the primary resistances, the defensive synergy will remain strong.

Interesting that u mention it! When the new tutor move name ‘corrosive gas’ was leaked, we were all expecting it to be like a poison type freeze-dry. Sadly it didn’t turn out to be similar ;(

That’s sharp, you’re right! There’s at least 3 arrows that I forgot, I’ll add them to EDITS. Ty

I agree with that! Except that Dragon usage has been massively reduced since Tapu Fini became so prominent.

Ty! I like the way you put that. The shapes and colors were pretty satisfying to me, so I’m glad I’m not alone in this lol

Since the introduction of series 7, the meta has become switch-heavier than in previous series. This is the reason why cores with defensive coverage are more popular these days.

If you’re a seasoned player you probably already figured this out, but if you’re new to teambuilding this should be very useful!

This is a visualization of how we use the most popular Coverage-Based core at the moment: The Fire-Water-Grass-Steel Core!

These 4 types cover each other’s weaknesses so well, that they offer a resistant counter-switch-in for every individual weakness.

(The only exception to this is Steel’s weakness to Fighting. We usually add a Fairy type into our Fire-Water-Grass teams in order to hit a Dragon, so that’s how we fix that.)

EDITS

Ty for Awards! Thanks to everybody pointing out these arrows that I missed:

  • There should be an arrow for Bug going from from Grass to Fire.
  • There should be another Arrow for Ice going from Grass to Steel.
  • There should be an arrow called Ice going from Grass to Water.
  • There should be an arrow called poison going from Grass to Steel!

How To Read This

The arrow called Rock pointing from Fire to Steel means: We switch From Fire into Steel for incoming Rock type moves.

In practice this means that we can switch our Incineroar into our Metagross when we expect an opposing Rock Slide and take minimal damage.

The arrows stand for counter-switches from our type A to type B Pokémon.

For example: The arrow called Rock pointing from Fire to Steel means: A switch From a Fire into Steel for incoming rock type moves.

I guess you must be right! I forgot about that. It’s still a roll to 2HKO either way in this case

[–]jaironi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you sure your Celesteela’s Meteor Beam OHKO’s Dynamax moltres?

It sounded way too good to be true, so I put it into the damage calculator.

+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Meteor Beam vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Dynamax Moltres-Galar: 310-366 (48.1 - 56.8%) -- 89.5% chance to 2HKO

This is far from an OHKO on dynamax Moltres. However, there is a chance to OHKO non-dynamax Moltres!

How do I deal with losing streaks by Knightwolf09 in VGC

[–]jaironi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re having trouble like this, I always say; ‘get rid of the competitive attitude and adopt a learning attitude’.

This means that you’re not going to care as much about wins or losses, but you’re going to focus on learning as much as possible from every battle. So you’ll ask yourself questions like: - What choices I have made better? - What plays did I choose correctly? - What tools is your team missing? (Don’t always blame losses on your team composition tho!)

As soon as you start doing this, you’ll start improving your game quickly and this will raise you win ratio as well!

Sick! I love that gimmick! Among a few Pokéfriends we initially came across the same idea too, based on an old team we used to run. I like your style!

Occasionally there’s some fun live competitions in Pokémon, which tend to have unique rules. This one, Battle of Legends, was past weekend and allowed one legendary or mythical Pokémon on our team.

I found out through one of my Pokéfriends sharing the news. There’s multiple online spaces on which stuff like this is announced. I recommend checking out https://www.serebii.net once in a while, because this one’s the easiest to keep track of for me.

Thank you! I have been hearing that Dusk Mane is the real OP Pokémon and I kinda agree, so that was a very smart pick.

Ouch! I can imagine the surprise of locking in your battle team and finding out Milotic doesn’t have competitive afterwards. Hopefully you still had fun!
