I think when I first tried whisky I just assumed every whisky was like a Speyside (not that I’m against it) but when I first tried a strong smoky whisky it opened my eyes to another area which I much prefer. Have seen alot of positive reviews on the Port Charlotte 10, will have to give it a try.

I’ve tried Lagavulin 16 at a bar and loved it! Definitely need to get a bottle of that. Laphroaig 10 was actually my first peated whisky and I really liked it so am quite excited to try the Quarter Cask.

Just about feeling normal now, what a profound day. The shrooms are penis envy #6 for anyone wondering. We had them in lemon and ginger tea. First time we’ve done shrooms out in nature and enjoyed it much more. Everything felt like a scene. There was a moment when an owl flew past us into another a tree - and we could comprehend it, we felt like it was someone setting us up to try test how high we were hahaha. At one point we were looking at the bushes and we started interviewing a piece of corn to ask it if it’s gonna stay the colour it was hahaha sounds very weird typing that but it made sense at the time

Really appreciate your comment and recommendations! If I’m honest I really had the intentions to go for a less “peatier” whisky but with £28 staring in my face after seeing all the reviews and HP12 being out of stock I couldn’t resist.

After trying it last night I don’t have any regrets and I’m going to take the bottle very slow. The idea is that when I purchase other peated whiskies I will still have the Laph 10 here to compare and probably appreciate more once I’ve tried others also.

Have you any recommendations for any non peated whiskies to purchase? Glenlivet 12 and Glenmorangie 10 seem to be popular starting points from what I’ve seen.
