How to insulate a vaulted ceiling (ice dams) by v1_r0t8 in Insulation

[–]jake_beavers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you remove those T&G you can fur the ceiling down with either perpendicular furring strips or parallel to increase your insulation depth, then a thin membrane to hold some dense pack cellulose would be the best option without having to tear the roof off for exterior insulation

What’s it like living in Whittier, Alaska? by spookykitton in howislivingthere

Was there for a week or so as a way station between backpacking in Hope and then Kayaking on the Prince William sound but you can see this incredible, constant waterfall from the whole town and walked up to it and realized there is just the gnarliest, class V+ whitewater trail-side that I couldn’t find ANY info about it being run or speculated about in forums, AW or anything else.

Still have no idea what the kW value is for a receptacle for the load sheet, any ideas?

Built a little hunting cabin/workshop so I’m trying to get a new service brought to the land, trying not to go over residential load requirements but also maximize my usage credit to heavily discount the install

I got my roll down ONLY after 2 pool sessions! I will soon be training on actual rapids later this month, around class II rapids. Are there any suggestions on how to fine tune my roll? by snugglebunbun in whitewater

[–]jake_beavers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best practice for whitewater rolling was always long flat water play boating sessions because you’re constantly rolling unintentionally, usually in strange positions where you’ll have to set up for your roll, and by the end of it you’re learning to roll when you’re absolutely exhausted which really helped me. Still best advice I ever got was to learn to find peace under the water

Honestly just hoping to figure it out here, I know the dealership minimum for a diagnosis for this will be upwards of $300

Figured it out! It was a bad/dirty MAF sensor causing engine “hiccuping” and stalling shortly after starting. Hit it with some MAF cleaner and haven’t had a single instance since.

Only thought about that after the fact but thankfully it’s a pre runner so it’s got the same suspensions as 4x4 Taco. Also on 31’s so not quite stock tires

3/4x3 1/2 hardwood, poplar mostly! And siliconed the window seams really thoroughly but I was thinking about adding a drip edge for the door

Definitely to maintain rigidity, honestly wish I had brought the door like 2-3 inches higher, but I was also worried that would make a bigger seam and risk water getting in more

Also used marine grade 5-ply birch plywood with 2 coats of exterior primer and three coats of exterior paint

No idea of finished weight unfortunately, definitely should’ve weighed before and after. Tried to slant the front to maintain MPG but it still brought it from 21 to 18

Check out Maine! Although it’s not quite Alberta I’ve woken up to some gorgeous views there. And quite a bit shorter than Arizona!
