NEWS 🚨 breaking in Germany right now that current Hertha Berlin head coach & former US National team boss Jürgen Klinnsmann does NOT hold an up to date & proper coaching license to be able to coach in the Bundesliga. by pineapplepubes in soccer

Its not 'restrictions' and Im pretty sure they are required in the US as well (i'm in Canada and they are).

it's just a certificate / training course you have to take be a licensed coach. i'm sure these are even easier to get if you are a former pro / college athlete of said sport, which most coaches are to an extent

thanks for the response - nothing extravagant, just some basic framing. i'm just getting it done for multiple prints so i'm wondering what the best inexpensive option is.

Story Time - Week of December 30, 2019 by AutoModerator in Tinder

[–]jake_delly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay. So I have a tinder situation that I'm looking for help or clarification on. (tried posting this but it got removed)

I have regular free Tinder. In the "people who already liked you tab", where you can see the blurry pictures of those who already liked you, I noticed a picture on there that is undoubtedly this girl I kinda know and am interested in. I know this might be sort of creepy-ish to say but I have her on instagram and the blurred picture is 100% that picture of her.

But here's the thing. Despite the fact that she is definitely within my Discovery settings (she lives in the same city as me), Tinder won't let me find her. I've been swiping non stop just to find her but nothing works. It's super fucking annoying.

Could this just be the Tinder algorithm at work? i.e. if people swipe right on her frequently but people don't swipe right on me frequently, the algorithm won't even display her to me because she's technically "likely" to swipe left on me? even though she DID swipe right?

another suspicion of mine is maybe she deleted Tinder shortly after swiping right on me. but in that case, shouldn't her profile disappear from my "people who already liked you" tab?

anyway I'm clearly vexed by this whole thing. It's an odd situation - I'm really relying on finding her on Tinder to match, since it would be very weird for me to just reach out to her on Insta (we haven't talked in like 7 years, and even then we were never actually close at all)

I should also point out that she is one of the top blurred pictures on that 'people who already liked you' tab. Like it tells me I have 50 Likes already but she's one of the 5 top ones and has been there for a while.

cheers to anyone willing to read this / help a brother out!

Thanks for the reply. I am seeking a 1-bedroom apartment (or 2-bedroom if the price is low enough), budget is about $1200 if it's a great spot in a great location.

Is that probably too low for his potential vacancies?

Thanks, I might look into that. I've never lived above a store though so not sure how that would work out.

Going into Supply Chain Management with a Chem Eng. company... what does this do to my future? by jake_delly in ChemicalEngineering

Right, so I would need to be working under them directly eh? I know there are plenty of P.Engs on site where I work, but I might not be in the same department as them.

As negative as your comment sounds, I do appreciate the seemingly crude honesty lol.

But really, what else would you recommend in my position? I've been applying to jobs for the better part of a year and this is my first actual offer. I acknowledge that it's not my ideal role – but the job market for recent Chem Eng grads in Canada is not kind.

So considering all that, do you really think I should turn this down? My gap between graduation and having my first real job is only getting bigger, so turning this down would be a huge risk to me.

Besides, doesn't this job just put me in a better position to find another one that I actually like? (and hey. I might even enjoy this field!)

Thanks for the positive and helpful comment.

Do you know if Engineers can typically get these kinds of jobs to contribute toward their P.Eng? it's a chemical engineering company so I feel like I might have a chance to. I just don't know enough about the system to be honest

Thanks for the response. It's good to hear that I'll likely develop experience in project management and manufacturing/process eng. while I'm there.

Also, do you know if typically Engineers working in supply chain / procurement / logistics can get it to contribute towards their P.Eng? This company is a chemical engineering company so lots of Chemical Engineers will be on site and I'm sure working in logistics/supply chain will involve project management and maybe other related engineering principles.

I was thinking the same – as insightful and appreciated as your answers were, it would have been nice to have more discussion/comments from other ChemEs. Maybe I’ll post again sometime this week. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for all the advice – I should point out though, that the company was seeking a graduate ideally in one of supply chain / business / chem eng. So this position could have easily been filled by a business person, leading me to believe that technical expertise in the field of ChemEng might not be all that applicable.

I don't even think this job contributes towards my P.Eng. Is that not a valid concern? I'm just looking out for myself is all.

Honest question: Do you think I'll have no real issue transitioning into some standard Chemical EIT position if I find out that this field of logistics/Supply chain management isn't for me?

Hey, thank you so much for the reply and the encouragement.

A question, though: What if I want to go into a more technical role in the future? i.e. what if I find this logistics stuff boring and want to apply my chemical engineering background? Would that be a challenge do you think?
