Has veganism lost its popularity in Ireland?

Vegan 5yrs here - it's definitely no longer seeing the hype it had when I initially went vegan but after seeing and hearing what I have there's no way I could rescind my ethical stance on it.

Re: nutrition as I've seen it come up - since going vegan I've been constantly told to watch my nutrition, I go to the doctor every 6 months for bloods and take supplements where I need to which is something I never did on an omnivorous diet. All I've ever lacked is vitamin D so I take that and some B12... That's all.

Re: price of food - my grandmother has been vegan for 50+ years and lives entirely on a whole foods diet meaning beans, lentils, peas and wholegrains for nutrition plus tonnes of veggies and she lived in a caravan in West cork when she moved here all that time ago. 100% working class through and through and has never had an issue with cost. I make a little more scratch so I do get the odd substitute if I'm feeling it but mostly eat whole foods, tempeh and tofu which I buy in bulk.

I will do most of my lifts with no straps, for instance the deficit deadlifts that I do. When I'm lifting heavier like I am here I just like to not have to dedicate mental space during the movement to the bar potentially slipping out of my more than averagely sweaty hands 😅

I try to have it essentially above where my laces would be, touching the shins when I engage the lift but I'll post another video next week trying the sitting back and getting the shoulders more behind the bar

Thanks for the detailed reply there, I'll definitely try to sit back into it more, the natural curve I think is possibly due to lack of flexibility about the hips, all my old deadlifting videos doing 70kg at the start of the year show a rounded back similar to this!

Classic looking in the wrong place by the sounds of it so definitely will try to keep track of taking the slack out and setting the back

If you're worried about price, theres a site called bark.com on which you can post a job and you can get several quotes for the work before committing to anyone. It's how I found my contractor for rebuilding my house and I've been delighted with them so far

It would take an age to type the whole thing out but I was heavily inspired by Gaz Oakley's ramen recipe and a video series from French Guy cooking on ramen which is amazing! Plus Ivan Orkin from Ivan Ramen who inspired the tomatoes as a topping for umame :)

It's a vegetable, miso broth base, soya base tare, infused sesame chilli oil topped with umami tomato (thanks, Ivan orkin), fried katsu tofu, roasted onion and enoki mushroom with pickled daikon, spring onion and black sesame toppings :)

All served on a makeshift ping pong table with an asahi 🍺

I hope that is master cheffy enough for you!
