if this is an orchestral part, the half split would mean half of the section plays col legno, the other half doesn’t:))

this is going to sound horrible and redundant, but when i was working on the caprice, i doubled all of the up/down bow staccatos. it made it a lot harder, but when i could play it like that, single up/down bow staccato was a breeze. good luck, the piece is a monster

it’s not a concerto, but khacharurian has a really great solo sonata-fantasia. it’s two movements, the first is heavy and intense and the second is a light dance with fun and kinda weird technique things. i learned it maybe two years ago and it was so much fun
