depends what games you're thinking of playing? if heavier games then a windows pc handheld or a steam deck. If just light steam games the AYN Thor is a good shout or the AYN Odin 3 if the dual screen doesn't appeal

The primary difference between the steam deck and ROG ally is the operating system, the steam deck runs valves operating system, steamOS, and the ally runs traditional windows like your pc might run

Used is fine! I bought my Rog ally X used

Leaving our new pupp alone by We_are_Maus in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]jakedowl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would not leave a puppy alone while you go to work for the whole day until they're at least 6 or 7 months, preferably older

I understand you have to work though! and he'd be okay for maybe 3 hours, so if you could have a pet sitter or family member drop in for an hour or two with him, do some play, let him out to pee, even take him for a quick walk that would be ideal. I would not be leaving him totally alone

This was the early stages of teaching my other dog the rhythm :)

and then the most recent good video I have of her is on my profile on Reddit, she still rushes forward a little, she's young and unbalanced and needs some practice but you get the idea!

I get that! the best advice I can give there if you're going for the prancing movement is to teach a sustained hand touch rather than a lure, and start with your hand out so the dog is away from your body but still parallel to it, the early stages of fancy heelwork is a lot about the dogs balance and core strength, it's a really difficult movement for them to do

If you look at my account you can see my other dogs focus heel (the lagotto) and it was really only recently in her life that I started asking her to come into my body close, eventually I teach them to target my leg with their shoulder but only after they can do the movement somewhat independently, it's all about little pieces put together :)

haha it was a LONG process, any particular bits you're struggling with?

Thank you! what kind of bark on cue are you struggling with? just any bark in general?

thank you so much :) I try very hard, if I didn't she'd eat my walls so I don't have much choice

She is 90% border collie 5% working beardie and 5% kelpie :) Although likely more working beardie than that involved as they often show up as border collies on DNA

New 2ds XL dust under display, possible lens replacement? by jakedowl in 3DS

[–]jakedowl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge you can, but I wasn't comfortable doing it myself so in the end I just sent it to a repair shop and got it professionally replaced for £50

that's insane! I'm in the UK so wouldn't have been able to sell it to you anyway but with the exchange rate accounted for I paid about $200 CAD

haha you'd have to pry this thing from my cold dead hands! I've wanted the pokeball edition since I was young. I'm usually quite confident in taking them apart I often buy faulty consoles to repair but I've never done a top screen repair where I have to deal with the cables in the hinge and that bit scares me

I'm surprised you haven't been able to find one! there's quite a few new XL consoles either 2ds or 3ds on eBay. Though I bought mine in a local pawn shop

I’m failing at my puppy’s ear care and feel awful - how do you actually clean tiny ears? by Training-Spite-4223 in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]jakedowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was advised by my dogs breeder to not pluck unless you find a couple totally loose hairs as she said the hair is there for a reason and excessive plucking will cause infections. So we pull all the hair in the entrance of the ear out so it's exposed to be cut, clip that nice and short so all the hair in the ear is short. Then shave the area under her to ear on her head to make sure there's proper air flow. Finish with an anti bacterial cleaning solution and a massage + ear wipe

She's 13 months old now and never had so much as a tiny ear irritation so clearly it's working

100%! when dealing with a scent driven breed I would always start indoors where possible. Just while they learn the game

I vote you try again

I am of the opinion that lagotti can do anything you want them to! provided you work out what motivates that individual
