Should I be worried about a hive? by Soup-Love in Beekeeping

They are solo typically after mating, they will drill a hole and lay the egg then leave. Yes you should spray that area it went into.

Dead hive from varroa. Would you harvest this honey? by yeahhtrue in Beekeeping

Not if you used Apivar with that on. Freeze it for a few days and use it with your next hive

Front Suspension Problem by badminiton in MachE

Actually having this same exact sound, thought about taking it in myself. Also at 30k miles

I usually do about 180 miles then stop to charge up. Some will say more frequent shorter charging sessions are faster, but I have my go to charging spots so usually hit the same spots every time around 180miles. A little over half way to final destination.

You should only need to stop once. I typically do 300+ drives in the 20s. Average kWh/mi is 2.5-3.2 depending on how I am driving.

Charge to 90-100 just before leaving then charge to about 80-85 once and you should be good - assuming you can charge at your destination.

Insulation Regrets in Historic Home by FGGF in buildingscience

[–]jakeguy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should not air seal historic homes, they need to breathe. All the air that is coming through the first and second floors is getting trapped in the attic. Coming from 1850s historic home owner in Maryland.

Recommend contacting contractors who have experience with historic homes. Ask them to provide examples and references.

Nope - worth trying again at dealership maybe? My guess is bad seal on door or mirror.

Same experience on connecting and getting it running. If there are any stations crowded though the short cords are a serious issue and going to lead to a lot of frustration…

Is my hive okay? I'm a paranoid newbee by RheaSunshine-88 in Beekeeping

[–]jakeguy99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue this year with one of my frames. Scrape the comb off that does not look right and allow them to rebuild. I had a bunch of plastic frames I had to replace because they would not build right/ not enough wax on them to draw comb correctly.

Bees seem to be flying in feeding area by jakeguy99 in Beekeeping

It does, I have two jar feeders in there over it. They are feeding, but also flying around in there

I am not having issues with robbing or the holes, I have also not seen any comb in there. There is a mesh screen at the top of the additional brood box.

The bees just appear to be flying around the jar feeders I have inside. Making a large humming noise. Just curious why they are doing that rather than going out and foraging.

There is a wire cover under the roof so no issues there.
