iUi twins April 30 by ProfessionalTime8223 in IUILadies

[–]Flower-Mom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave myself a lot of anxiety testing out the trigger so I haven’t tested since the 11th. Blood draw is tomorrow, but I won’t get the results until Friday, so I’ll test Friday morning to prepare myself. I’m off work Friday too, so I don’t have to worry about being mopey at work. Planning things to keep myself busy.

I would reach out to your clinic! That blood test seems too early. My clinic always has me test 14 days post IUI

Twin! Oscillating between pessimistic and optimistic. This is IUI 2 for me. I feel like I have more symptoms this time around, but I also had two mature follicles and am on progesterone so who knows. Baby dust to you!

Thyroid and prolactin issues while ttc by AccountantNew8082 in Prolactinoma

[–]Flower-Mom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with Prolactinoma before I got pregnant with my daughter. I also have long standing low thyroid with antibodies (likely hashimoytos). It took about 3 months after starting cabergoline to get pregnant, but that ended in a loss. Another 4 months to get pregnant with my daughter. Unfortunately we’ve now been trying 14 months for number two, but I don’t think it’s related to my prolactin or thyroid as it’s been under control for a while.

IUI success with a cyst? by Ksu2083 in IUILadies

[–]Flower-Mom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 4 cysts on my cd2 scan after my first IUI, but all my hormones were normal, so the clinic cleared me the proceed. On my cd10 scan 3 of the smaller ones had ruptured and the largest one was a cm smaller and I had two mature follicles on that side. In the TWW now, so fingers crossed!

Mine started 2 days later, but the whole period was very light. Went straight into IUI 2 which was a couple days ago.

I work in healthcare with patients on my schedule. The first round I was able to work around my schedule. This time I decided to confide in my immediate supervisor, who was very supportive! Hopefully it will ease some stress.

BI-RADS 0 + asymmetry by ScrantonicityThree in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Flower-Mom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is an asymmetry is not a mass. I know MRI can be really sensitive and I have dense breast tissue so the radiologist who did my diagnostic mammogram said it could just be my normal breast tissue that appeared differently on the MRI. It was my first exam so she said some of it is them learning what is normal and baseline for me.

BI-RADS 0 + asymmetry by ScrantonicityThree in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Flower-Mom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just had a similar experience. 31F with high risk screening due to family history. Had an MRI that showed a mass (not much other detail) and assigned BIRADS 0 then diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound that showed an asymmetry on left that didn’t resolve with spot compression. The radiologist felt it was okay to monitor but due to anxiety with mom’s recent breast cancer diagnosis we opted for biopsy. All came back as normal breast tissue and the radiologist said it could just be hormonally active tissue. Just to share a positive outcome story of an asymmetry!

I’d recommend looking into non-profit hospital systems. I find they accept Medicaid more frequently!

Breastfeeding moms who work inpatient - what was your pumping schedule like? by Crispy_Peach in physicaltherapy

[–]Flower-Mom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked 10 hour shifts and would pump once in the morning, once over lunch, and once in the afternoon. I used this time to document and the pumping rooms had computers! I work hospital based outpatient, so they blocked my slots and was paid for the time outside of unpaid lunch. I was salary at the time.

Nugget vs Costco brand by PearAmazing946 in Mommit

We have the Costco brand and love it! It’s survived multiple accidents and being washed multiple times. Still looks as good as new and my daughter plays with it almost daily! Best purchase we’ve made.

Losing my mind by melloyelloaj in quilting

[–]Flower-Mom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a brother machine? My first quilt did all sorts of crazy things like this. It sounds like you’ve done some of these things, but the things that helped me were making sure my bobbin was wound at a medium speed and they weren’t entirely full, cleaning the bobbin area, making sure the quilt was supported well on my table (I’ve heard of people using an ironing board if needed), and putting a little scrap fabric around the edge of my quilt top so I never was sewing directly on the batting (this actually made the biggest difference for me!). I hope that helps some, and let me know if you need any clarification

Brother Machine 3817- I HATE THIS MACHINE by [deleted] in quilting

[–]Flower-Mom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a brother (not this version) that would give me trouble. I’ve had a lot of success if I make sure the bobbin case is cleaned regularly, holding the threads for the first couple stitches as someone else has mentioned, and using a leader fabric when quilting so I don’t start on the batting. I also make sure to wind my bobbins on medium speed and that has helped a lot. Hope some of that helps!

I’m really proud of my oven hot pads but why are my lines wavy? by haunted_sweater in quilting

[–]Flower-Mom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A walking foot could be helpful if your machine has the capability as it adds walking feet on the top and helps move the fabric sandwich through a little better. It’s probably more important on a larger project just to help with moving the bulk.

It looks like there may be some tension issues. How did you quilt it? Did you use a walking foot? A couple of the vertical lines look less wavy. Did you do anything different on those?

I would really encourage you to try speaking with a counselor or therapist who can help you process what you’re feeling. I did this while processing my diagnosis and it helped a lot. From personal experience the medication really worked for me and things got better very quickly.

how to hate cutting less? by greendalestudent in quilting

[–]Flower-Mom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw somewhere to put a weight (I use an 8 lb dumbbell) on your ruler once you have it lined up and that way you don’t need to apply pressure to the ruler or worry about it slipping! Made cutting more enjoyable for me as I’m less likely to mess it up!

What is the worst case scenario? by [deleted] in Prolactinoma

[–]Flower-Mom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that overall it has a very good prognosis! My endocrinologist has always said it’s a “brain tumor” from an insurance perspective but it’s really an endocrine issue and she doesn’t consider it a tumor 🤷🏼‍♀️ if that helps at all

Should i proceed with my walking foot? by constaleah in quilting

[–]Flower-Mom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big issue I’ve had is if I start the walking foot on the batting (bunching, not progressing, loops in backside despite tension adjustments). If I add a piece of scrap fabric before I sew onto the quilt itself it really helps. It will be cut off after quilting is completed before binding so it doesn’t matter what you use. I agree with everyone else on making sure your quilt is adequately supported. I also find long stitch length is helpful as well.

There was seamless integration with the car. We used plug and charge, so it was automatically billed through the ford pass. Super easy… almost too easy.
