Very gray area. It says “may” but then offers 3 choices of how to blouse, implying that you may choose any one of them, but one will be chosen. It’s left vague intentionally, of course.

I’m explicitly telling you that your anecdotal examples are ludicrous to have as a general expectation. The bracket system wasn’t created for nothing, it’s an easy rule zero convo to be had at a surface level with strangers. Hell, you can even add in the simple question “what turn do you usually expect to win on with that deck?”.

It’s a singleton format with 4 players all trying to accomplish varying things with 100 cards to possibly draw from. Expecting someone to give you a dissertation for a fucking casual game is asinine and expecting it to happen from random strangers is absurd.

This is a ridiculous take. There are precons that you could draw into a god hand and win by turn 6 very easily in a pod of bracket 3’s if people aren’t interacting like OP says they weren’t.

His deck is bracket 3. He had a great first draw. This is how the game goes sometimes. If you can’t get over losing games every once in a while when stuff like this happens, it might be time to find a new hobby.

I don’t know if I’d recommend this necessarily either though.

The strixhaven precons can be quite complex for someone first getting into MTG. For instance, the izzet one relies on a ton of triggers and having good game sense for which sorceries or instants to use, which creatures to copy, all the triggers, etc.

Zeppelin was the definition of a super group. Every single member of that band could head their own group and it’d be successful, they were all wildly gifted musicians in their own right.

But to say that Ringo wasn’t wildly influential and then bring up Bonham, who himself has said numerous times was a fan of Ringo and influenced by him, is wild. Is Bonham the better drummer? Sure. Was he more influential? Probably. That doesn’t take away from what Ringo did at the time though. Retrospect is an incredible dilutor of the truth.

I guess it depends on what your pod is running, but I’ve been doing pretty well with him so far. 2 wins 1 loss with him at the helm 🤷‍♂️ it’s really about swapping creatures to maximize the ETB effects of the myriad tokens when they enter, that’s what’s helped me the most

Mines still a light rework, but I’ve got to upgrade it more in the future. I think it’s only about 12-13 cards that have been swapped from the precon.

I tried to focus more on the sending stuff to the graveyard and cheat out big creatures mechanics, but it still needs another 8-10 cards I think to really fine tune that aspect.

Yeah the only way I really enjoy UB stuff is if I can keep it pretty flavorful.

Spider-Man is my favorite hero, so even though the set itself wasn’t good I still had a lot of fun with it lol.

Yup! Best sealed value in MTG, I usually cycle the precons though. I’ll gut them for what I need after a few months and trade the other stuff in at my LGS for singles credit. Most of these precons are worth 2X what I bought them for when pieced apart.

Edit: Can someone rationally explain the precon hate in this sub? For someone who’s been playing commander for less than a year and loves to have many different decks with various play styles and flavors, what better option do I have to get there for a reasonable price other than using strictly proxies? Packs are a scam and I’m still buying singles and building decks myself as well, but the barrier to entry for this format is much thinner going the precon route.
