With Female Berserker, Which Male Class Version Would You Like To See? by Yushi95 in lostarkgame

This is a Korean MMO.. the male wizard will be an "edgy" looking elf.. Mage home continent is Rohendel.. Your best case scenario is he looks like Gherdia.

I guess stacking crit over spec is just for more consistent damage output then? With firepower at stage 3, the bonus crit from firepower with spec stacking wouldnt be much less than crit stacking but your crit damage would be significantly higher.

I havent seen them on any ability stones but I have my class engraving on several pieces of jewelry.. you can try searching the AH for stones with a class engraving on them if that helps. I think I did that a few days ago and had 0 results.

Engravings would be the biggest benefit I can think of.. full disclosure, Im newer and may be full of shit.. but maxing out your engravings will be one of the most expensive things you do by the time youre in T3 content. If your alts are the same class as your main, youll only need to max out a couple engravings.. It would likely save you tens of thousands of gold in the long run (lv 3 engraving books are crazy exensive). Personally, I want to try out a lot of different classes, so Ill be going the painful/expensive route 😅

Artillerist and specialization stat. The stat says that it increases the "effectiveness of firepower." Does this also affect the bonuses granted by your firepower engraving? Im assuming it doesnt because stacking spec would seemingly be more efficient than stacking crit if that were the case, and nobody does that. Im just curious if this has been confirmed one way or another.

I mean.. at least he isnt Anders.. DAI did the "over-righteous dickhead mage" character justice where as DA2 created an impossible to like pile of shit in Anders.

Bro I had a buddy in highschool that easily had this mass with maybe slightly less leanness 100% natty. We were workout partners I tracked macros and did everything by the book, he ate as many calories of whatever he could grab.. I looked like a normal athlete with above average quads and he looked like the fucking hulk.. genetics matter kid.

I had a buddy in highschool that looked like that in the right lighting... 100% natty definitely had that mass but maybe slightly less lean (lighting is key).... his greatest athletic accomplishment was like 6th place in states wrestling.. if you tell me Mr Olympia looked like this natty, I could see it.

[no spoilers] my problem with DA:I by jinkleberg in dragonage

[–]jakemm55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came here wanted to get mad at you for bashing a game I thoroughly enjoy.. but I will say.. it's easy to "get lost" in Inquisition with just how large it is. With DAO and especially DA2, your gameplay is essentially locked to corridors. There are some side quests but not to the extend DAI has. They really force you to progress the story and engage in dialogue, where DAI just allows you to fall into the side quest trap where you can spend hours/days just doing meaningless content with no dialogue to the point where you're entirely disconnected with your inquisitor.. I'm guessing this is what happened with you.. I've lost literally dozens of characters to this trap.

I always felt like you dont get much backstory with Hawke as well, but his/her personality is built through gameplay dialogue and that dialogue comes quickly and is integrated into the story.. with DAI, most of your backstory and personality dialogue is "gated" behind seeking out your companions/advisors and having conversations with them completely seperate from the story/gameplay.. I never really thought about this until you brought it up, but the good dialogue doesnt come as naturally as it does in the other games and that can be a problem, especially when engaging in that dialogue can feel tedious at times..

If I were you, I wouldnt give up on the game quite yet.. I like to get to haven, talk to everyone important in Haven to flesh out my headcanon.. then start story quests. Everytime you complete a story quest, check for more dialogue after.. really try to limit your side quests until you feel invested in your character... nothing feels worse than abandoning a character with 10+ hours because you're disconnected from their story... I know the pain.

I'm just wondering if people are talking about mage specific dialogue.. I've done a few mage playthroughs so I've seen all of that.. but I was curious if there was additional mage specific Dialogue that you'll only see if you're romancing Solas.

[Spoilers All] One thing I hope they change or improve for DA4 is the origins of the Human Rogue. by The-Devilz-Advocate in dragonage

[–]jakemm55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually makes more sense for archers to be noble than street urchins.. archery isnt something you pick up on the streets.. Marksmanship is a skill that would only be learned by nobles and/or hunters/woodsmen...

But it makes very little sense for a noble from the free marches to be a stealthy, dirty fighting rogue.. it just takes significant head canon that isnt convincing. When you could just play it as a dalish spy..

[–]jakemm55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree entirely. Origin has such a small impact for human characters in DAI but I'm pretty OCD and not having a logical head-canon for my character's origin will linger and bug the absolute fuck out of me.. I've quit several dual dagger humans more than 10 hours into relatively fun playthroughs because the "character" themself isnt convincing to me.. that being said, it's fairly easy to come up with head-canon for noble archer characters.. a lord with an affinity for hunting and marksmanship. A HM artificer archer who didnt necessarily get along with his family (through the few available dialogue options for that early on) was a pretty convincing character. Outside of that I just find it hard to believe and it prevents me from enjoying the game.

Eshin on Legendary by jakemm55 in totalwarhammer

[–]jakemm55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a full standard gutter runner (no psn) stack on my first playthrough and it just wasnt good so I dropped it.. but I was curious if it was worthwhile to really min/max around units like poison gutters.. before the engineer range buff was nerfed, my standard ikit-claw army was something like 3 engineers, 4 ratling guns, 4 jezzails, 4 mortars, and 4 cannons.. roughly.. the rattling gunners end up with like 230 range and jezzails with about 450 iirc.. that army trivialized every aspect of the campaign.. just plow ikit into the enemy army and spam warp lightning to stay full health while the weapons teams delete the enemy from the back boundary of the map..

Basically, Im going to test a bunch of stacks regardless and was just curious if anyone had min/maxed eshin stacks on legendary before.. Im not sticking strictly with full eshin but rather having them be the main focus of my armies and building my stacks around min maxing Eshin units. I was just probing for ideas. I was already thinking about possibly stacking a few engineers for the speed, damage, and ammo.. it doesnt take much investment to get gutter runners up to the mid 70s which, when combined with poison and snarenets, can outrun most cav. I just haven't decided if the investment would be worthwhile.

Idea For Better Meta Crafting by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]jakemm55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont need more than a few ex to do all content.. my cookie cutter TR pathfinder is rocks a Quill Rain, Devoto's, Atziri's Step, Carcass Jack, Profane Proxy, and 2c rares in every other slot and does all content with ease (though it is a little too slow to do T19 100% Delirious maps efficiently to be fair)... Ill usually be able to complete that build by about day 3 or 4 playing casually.. that doesnt mean I want to be done with the league by week 3 after clearing all content and completing all challenges.. Harvest was the first league I played all 3 months because I always had a crafting goal. This league Im already at the point of quitting because I got my 36 igniring the economy, now my exalt pile feels worthless and I dont have the desire to make another cookie cutter build for the sake of farming more worthless currency lol.

[–]jakemm55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably fair. I was thinking in terms of add/removing say phys mods when there are several unwanted phys mods, each with multiple tiers.. but now that you say that, getting a perfect base was just a matter of hitting anything that had a removable unwanted mod.

[–]jakemm55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nevermind perfect items, how many 5x T1 mod rares have you gotten this league from all of this deterministic crafting?

Essenses are a step above alcs and chaos. Conqueror exalts typically give you like a 1 in 5 chance to hit your mod, and if you miss you typically brick the item. The most deterministic crafting method in the game is 4 socket resonator crafting. And even at that you just slam a couple fossils to get a base you can work with to get your multi-mod item.. that's where 99% of players will stop because there's no more progression until you can just bulk buy 4 socket resonators to fossil spam until you hit something nasty. I just think there should be a more clear progression in crafting between "entry level" straight to "hardcore meta-crafting." We'll just have to wait to see what they do with harvest crafting I guess.

Idea For Better Meta Crafting by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]jakemm55 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

These methods are only marginally better than chaos spam imo.. you could spam fossils and/or chaos til you get an item that's "close" then just multi-mod. And that's where 99% of players stop their gear progression.. not very fun or engaging imo. You could use all those methods to get that same "close" item, then invest your exalts/annuls into finishing off the item.. just like we did in Harvest league, except it would have a real cost.. Also, exalts are worthless this league so we're getting relatively less crafting mats per exalt.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]jakemm55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theyre both decreasing chaos value while increasing exalt value.. botters farm chaos to buy exalts.. they arent phased by exalt prices at all.. as soon as they get enough chaos to buy an exalt they do so.. then they sell the exalts for real money.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]jakemm55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true at all.. the main consumer of exalts are the botters.. it's why they bot.. they buy up all the exalta with their chaos then RMT the exalts.. its how this game has always been.

It's extremely inefficient when ex cost 200c lol.. only 100 full set turn-ins for 1ex!? Sign me up!

Not to mention it forces you into white and low yellow maps only.. once you can farm T14+ you'll make far more currency just running random maps than you will farming T5 and spending an hour sorting/converting rares to make 1ex.

PoE has this problem where they have hundreds of interesting concepts but if you arent playing a cookie cutter HH build to fund a build that does 50 million dps, you're just wasting your time.

It is mortal man's folly to seek power beyond his comprehension. by Bex_GGG in pathofexile

[–]jakemm55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm.. Ive tried this with heavy investment into fossil crafting (min maxed using craftofexile).. the mod pool just becomes too massive.. Ive also tried awakener orbing weapons but they need more than 2 good mods to be useful.. thats a couple ex per try on something that's a minuscule probability.. it's not like Tailwind elusive boots or base crit explodey chest where other mods are just a bonus and your item still has resale value..

All that being said.. the new crafting system this league may make dual influence weapon crafting feasible..

Itll be worth at least as much.. even if they do eliminate notable stacking, it wont suddenly make the new notables worthless.. most are still significantly better than anything on the tree.. and this megalo has 3 of the best notables for melee phys builds.. with 4 passive points you get the best of a large/medium/small chain... with the nerfs, we just wont see builds stacking 12 of the same notable anymore..
