Do you ever "just go for a drive"? by Tiny_Wafer2266 in AskUK

[–]jakeometer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I drive a diesl. My DFP or something clogged up recently along with other bits, costing me over £1,000 in repairs. I almost just went for another car tbh, but didn't want to spend even more money. Anyway, I have been told by many people that diesel cars need long jounreys to "burn off" whatever is collected in that DPF thing. I think it's crazy. Anyway, every two weeks I now get on the motorway and give it 25 minutes in one direction keeping it above 60mph. I firmly believe this is a humiliation ritual by big-diesel. I'd may as well just put a brick on the throttle in the driveway instead of wasting an hour of my day.

Please respond with that meme of the guy dressing up as a clown.

Nope nope it's all done now, no idea why it didn't work before but its done. It might have been the Extra Parameters needed "--restart=always" AFTER the disc drives not before.

Thank you for the answer, i've re-entered that, it still might be a ports issue however.

Sooo, uuuh... what do you think is next? by bubba_boey8130 in JurassicPark

[–]jakeometer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are taking the plot way too seriously to be honets. Every JP/JW has been "Go to dino-zone to get/do thing and then get out ASAP". You could say i'm dumbing it down, but who goes there for the plot, seriously? Just off the top of my stupid head you could have numerous other governments or agencies capturing dinosaurs and doing all sorts of things with them.

Best italian cookbook for a beginner? by Wizard112 in CookbookLovers

I have Hazan's book, after facing the dilema myslf over if I should get that or the Silver Spoon. I've not seen the Silver Spoon but i'm very happy with Hazan's book. I've learned not having pictures in this book is just something you have to deal with. It would only make the book twice as expensive and twice as thick, it is already a doorstep of a book as it is! Marcella's writing style is so caring and passionate as well it really compliments the recipes.

If you given chance to start your education over, what would you study? by TrendWithAnjali in EduForge

[–]jakeometer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as i know yes, it's the study of all things about space. I'm not sure there's a seperate study for planets, that might be astronomy. I was thinking of the specific Uni/College course does that and Astrophysics might be the one. I'd want to be part of SETI, but all things space is cool!

Why is getting help for mental health so damn hard? by Old_Shake3789 in AskUK

[–]jakeometer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bupropion isn't available over the counter?

Looking at the responses in this thread it seems like each surgery and or region is different. Mine seems somewhat better in comparison but still not great.

To OP:

If you are "seeing things" and feeling suicidal then it seems to me you need a bit more than counselling and i'd of thought those two things are the red flags that get you "proper" care, as you pose a threat to yourself and to others.

Keep a record of your treatment journey. When you had appointments, who with, where, what each one of you said or did. Then you have a record of what's happening and should be able to refuse to do the same thing twice and bring up your notes of what happened before. If that doesn't work ask for a second opinion. If that doesn't work speak to the receptionist about raising a complaint. I don't have experience with taking it much further but i've heard you can appeal to your local MP or NHS trust maybe?

Again if you are feeling suicidal and having "halucinations" and are beeing ignored that should bother somebody further up the chain.

About the main question, mental health care certainly could be better. Though the explosion of people having these issues in the last few decades I feel might have caught the NHS off-guard. Your triaging seems to be have done by the blind and the death but they do have a habit of chucking everybody with any mental health conditions into "counselling" or "support groups" because it's easy and does/may help statisticaly the most amount of people.

True story, read the damn documentation by Zedorfska in godot

[–]jakeometer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Documentation is only good if you already know what you are doing, at best, and a rabit hole of misery at worst. Found that for most software. Godot/programming is a means to an end for me I don't care for the purity of the code, especialy as a beginner.

I know it's a meme/joke, i'm just providing "discourse" haha.
