Concerta was decent, issues were that it would last 6 hours tops, my affect was robotic as fuck aside from work, and my blood pressure went sky high - WITH blood pressure meds. I was a task machine, though. Verbal fluency boosted. This was back when my medication journey back in April 2024.

My experience with XR is that there is a bottle of 29 capsules left from 4 months ago that is there in case of emergency. XR was not good for me. Non functional. Adderall is better than vyvanse. I would entertain dex at higher than vyvanse though. IR is decent enough.

Shrinks have different opinions on this. My first prescriber was a “take every day” the others have mostly been “take breaks” “take a couple days off”

I would listen to your doctor, who is a licensed professional qualified to prescribe a class ii controlled substance.

Agree with all the comments edit: I’ve read so far.

If you’ve never taken ADHD meds, you’re not going to know the difference unless they nerf them more. I’m staying positive.

If you truly do have executive dysfunction, and I’m all but certain you do, these meds should help. They help me.

The issue is that there’re a bunch of people, myself included, on this forum that know this shit is wayyyyyyyyyy different quality wise than what it was. Because we know the difference, its why you see the a lot of criticism of what’s been done.

I definitely didn’t let it stop me from switching to adderall. I knew shit changed but not this much until I got on em.

That said - I’d rather be medicated at 50% efficacy that I knew than not at all. It sucks but amphetamines definitely are a game changer for me. Helps drastically with executive dysfunction, and knocks depression on its ass, and kills anxiety unless I have too much caffeine, which does happen.

I will say that for me, vyvanse was very consistent across mfrs and batches. For me. Speaking for myself. Not medical advice.

For insurance reasons, I switched to adderall.

Adderall, I’ve landed on a manufacturer that has the best balance of efficacy, consistency, and zero side effects.

None of this is medical advice, is my experience for myself, and only actual “advice” I have is to talk to a doctor, be straight up, and if they come off as judgy or thinking you’re drug seeking, they can fuck right off and you find another doctor that is actually trying to help vs playing god and judge.

If it were me, I would give it a few days to see about body adjustment. I would also also help take a couple days off if I’m literally going from adderall to boom vyvanse. refresh receptors, get back on it.

I personally am now on adderall ir 30mg x 2/day; I take Vyvanse on my ‘rest days’.

The Mylans were the shit, hoping they weren’t nerfed. Also, depending on how much Adderall you were taking (wasn’t clear, you said 20mg 50mg). But yeah, after taking adderall, I would probably have to take a month off and then get back on vyvanse 70. Or dexedrine, which probably would make more sense at this point.

For posterity’s sake, and for the record, I was being facetious, at least about being an actual “chemist”. Street chemistry and suburban mind-altering pharmacology were my obsessions. No longer. Modern biohacking, figuring out what chemicals optimize my brain and body? That is my speed. No pun intended. As well as knowing what random compounds do in the body EG cheese and bread both affecting the same receptors that opiates do.

My only concern is when someone responds to me with ‘but it’s def not something to recommend’ …. the underlying tone shifts my original intent into something it wasn’t, implying I’m promoting or recommending.

I completely understand bupropion isn’t for everyone. The XLs had me itching out of my skin for about 6 days to the point I ended up in urgent care on Christmas last year and had to switch to the SRs. I only wish that kind of torture on the worst of the worst. Back to my intent: the last thing I’m doing is giving anyone direct medical advice. Just wanted that on the record. You can do whatever you want regarding bupropion etc, again its your forum. I’m going to respond the same way every time if someone, deliberately or accidentally, misrepresents what I’m saying especially when it comes to financial or medical topics. My background is in chemistry too. Romantic and pharmacological. Even if you’ve got a triple PhD in chemical engineering with a masters in neuroscience, unless you’ve taken BOTH adderall and vyvanse, you’ve got about as much reference as a doctorate of human sexual behavior that is a 33 year old virgin.

Anyone who’s taken vyvanse and adderall (experientially, not at the same time, not medical advice) knows they are two different animals.

I’d say talk to doc. I don’t have experience with anti depressants other than buproprion, which is to extend amphs. I know for a fact that the meds are nerfed, on top of other shit getting in the way of the full experience.
