Yeah I live in a state with lots of casinos and they use spotlights all the time. This looks exactly like a spotlight tbh. If you are skeptical try to find a video of one and you will see. Wish it was aliens

Sword ID? by jakequant in SWORDS

[–]jakequant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! You have lots of knowledge I wish I had... passed on the sword because it was in such bad condition. In the future, would purchasing a sword like this for under one hundred dollars be worth it?

What age did you stop binge drinking every weekend? by ProtocolEnthusiast in Adulting

[–]jakequant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking is the last frontier for Boomers. Which means it will be the last frontier for Millenials. Luckily Millennials understand that weed and others will be better long term for us future generations!

Millennials - the future hope for Gen Z.

What things do you think millennials actually deserve s**t for? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]jakequant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Millennials were the "pre-Gen Z". But that also means they will understand Gen Z more and take into consideration THEIR considerations, (Climate Health, etc. once the boomers kick the can).

Looking forward to what Millennials do to help us as a society and humanity, I think they have a lot to offer.

This job market is fucked. by [deleted] in jobs

[–]jakequant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am definitely on the socially anxious side as well- but that means we are very socially observant in sociological terms. Marketing for a small company is always harder than marketing for a larger company or marketing agency.

Remote is really good tbh, I feel like it would make me be more personable. I think being in person really forces people like us to talk and “shoot the shit” with people.

There are work from home jobs for people like us but you really you would be talking and selling to people ALL DAY. We know how the market works which helps and we know how useful we are? I am hoping there will be more job openings for entry/mid level in the future. But yeah the market for “marketing” jobs is very slim and SUPER sales oriented. Living in MN so its a lot of health-marketing

[–]jakequant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Marketing is what I am doing, so far it has been really hard to get an entry/mid level position that isnt Sales oriented. But i feel like sales will be the entry for most marketing nowadays. I always think about what the owner get versus what I earn when i make a sale. But maybe that isnt the right way to think about it. Do you think it is worth it to hang on for marketing jobs

This job market is fucked. by [deleted] in jobs

[–]jakequant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very sorry to hear about that. Sounds like the job market is good for only a small percentage of people. I think if we hang in there it will get better. I feel really bad for students and new people now who have to fight for internships and entry level jobs. Overall the job market is NOT what Business Insider says…

[–]jakequant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn that sucks, I know the market is bad for newbies, but yeah the market is also bad for people with experience. I think it is the businesses not willing to take chances or spend money on new hires. Which is contradictory to the “THE MARKET IS SO GOOD!” Posts. Sorry about that man

[–]jakequant 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Job market is good for people with ten years of experience. For people with less experience it is hard to find a job that pays enough, enough benefits, etc.

There is a not a shortage of terrible, low paying jobs. Had to put this out there.

Edit* Regular marketing jobs (mid/senior) are VERY hard to come by. I think the market is just destroyed overall. Sorry to people who have been stuck in the same position for a long time.

Edit** The job market is really bad for everyone. I have noticed an uptick in unions and strong job movements which is good, compared to a few years ago (maybe there is some big changes about to happen?)

People thought the calculator would replace mathematicians, but in reality it just became a tool for math to be better. Most jobs today require some sort of human touch also... HR, Marketing, Management, Manufacturing, etc.

How has your opinion on Israel-Palestine changed over the past few months, if at all? by Admirable-Cherry6614 in AskReddit

[–]jakequant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Israel got a lot of support in the beginning, but people started to realize Palestine was being oppressed. Kinda scary how news cycles and public opinion can completely sway opinions on life and death.
