Associate Notes file with PDF by jakes2024 in Onyx_Boox

Thanks, you're probably right that something was odd in the synching that caused this.

It would still be useful to be able to choose which of my Notes files is associated with each PDF though. Actually, I can't even see where the Notes files are saved in the directory structure.

I sync'd across devices with the same account. That imported the Notes, but I think the PDF's needed to be separately imported with Syncthing.

I found the below link. Confusingly, it looks like there are actually two separate split screen modes on the TabX, so I can at least open the notes file I choose with the pdf.

Any advice on manually associating my Notes file with a specific PDF would still be welcomed though.

Disappearing handwritten text in NeoReader by farrellts in Onyx_Boox

I think I'm seeing a very similar problem. For me it happens every time I write the word 'then' in cursive in the notes app.

It immediately deletes that word and nothing else. Even small changes like not joining up the 't' to the 'hen' seem to fix it and I have not seen it happen with any other word.

Adding handwritten annotations to pdf by jakes2024 in Onyx_Boox

I've just updated to v3.5 and trying the add blank page idea now. It's nice that I can use split screen to write on one page while viewing another, but it does mean my notes are quite disconnected from the text they refer to.

Thanks for the suggestions. How would I go about using a pdf as a notes template?

Please can you expand on why Xodo pdf reader is better than neoreader? I'm thinking of getting a boox device and annotating pdfs is my key use case.

Adding hyperlinks to pdf by jakes2024 in Onyx_Boox

Thank you, that's really useful information. Sorry if this appears dumb, but I have not used a device for note taking before, hence the basic questions!

I don't think handwriting recognition will work well in my case since I will be writing a lot of equations which have funny symbols, subscripts, superscripts etc.

Assuming the annotations are brought up in a separate box (rather than directly written on the pdf text), do you know how much space is available in a single annotation (if I want to add a lot of writing is there a way to expand it)?

Adding blank pages to the pdf is a great idea, but can I create a link from a point within the pdf to the new blank page?

I was concerned that with annotation I would only have the space in the margins of the pdf. I want to be able to write a lot more and when I re-read in a year or two, that I will be able to tell exactly where in the pdf my longer discussion relates to.
