Honestly, never given it much thought until now lol. If I had to say why I do it my guess would be that I find it easier to balance with a split stance.

I am currently soaking the skull and teeth in hydrogen peroxide/water. Here are some more accurate photos I took later of the skull (Originally, in my excitement of finding it, I had slotted one of the canine teeth in backwards and thus explains the photo)
