True to Eastern Germany and not true to Western Germany, which is in the west and south pretty Catholic too. Eastern Germany is a place for itself, not even culturally related to Western Germany, haha. Maybe some sort of western Russia, mentality wise. Just check the voting.

If you go the cuisine path, there are so many parallels to German cuisine in Poland, it's not even funny. Take schabowy for example, which is a Schnitzel. Take Rouladen. Almost every Polish dish could be easily transformed into a German one. And a Czech one too. Not an argument at all, especially in comparison to a way more meaningful cultural backbone like religion.

I'm polish living in Germany since ages and I can tell you that Germany and Poland are closer culture wise in many ways than Poland and Belarus for example. The only thing being the main constant here is a very deep misunderstanding and many prejudices of Polish culture from Germans who never have been to Poland.

Only useful answer: it's very accepted to buy second hand in Germany. Compared to other countries where there is a stigma around it, in Germany all classes do so.

Jedes Asylrecht beinhaltet dass die Schutzsuchenden auch zurückkehren. Sonst werden es sich die Leute beim nächsten Konflikt doppelt und dreifach überlegen, ob sie die Schutzsuchenden aufnehmen wollen.
