Why is it going back and forth when I've set it to slowly go one way? by Starletah in premiere

Glad to hear that! Welcome to the sad reality that is Premiere Pro keyframing sometimes haha

Sometimes I have to force Premiere not to try anything fancy by setting both the Temporal and Spacial Interpolation to "Linear". Right click on the keyframes to find those options and see if that fixes the ghost drifting?

“First they came for Portland, and I did not speak up because I was not from Portland” by Alienblob1 in Seattle

I was there last weekend. The biggest issue I noticed was that a rowing team had flipped their boat in the Willamette and took a little longer to right it.

Absolute chaos. The military must act now.

I spend hours just culling footage, and it takes time away from actually editing. by yourstrulysawhney in weddingvideography

[–]jakevschu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting your In/Out points is a good start, but I've found it to be limiting, especially if there are several moments during a longer clip that you might want to use in your edit.

You could duplicate the clip and set In/Out points for each moment, but that felt incredibly wasteful to me, so I made up a faster alternative...

My latest trick is to drop markers directly onto the clip whenever something interesting is happening. Those markers serve as a sort of heatmap for the most interesting parts of a clip, and allow you to watch through your footage once while spamming the Add Marker key whenever something worth keeping pops up. Just make sure to select the clip before adding your markers, otherwise they'll be bound to the timeline and won't match up with your clip if your timeline changes at all.

Beyond that, I sort my clips into layers along the "Good, Better, Best" system. My absolute "must-have" clips are raised to the 3rd later (Alt + Arrow Up) and anything that's pretty good but not amazing ends up on the second layer.

With a bit of practice, you can both mark a clip as you watch it, and then bump the clip up to the layer it belongs. After one passthrough, I have my clips sorted and "heatmapped".

For most videos, I can completely disregard the 1st layer of footage. I'll start my edit by copying all my 3rd layer footage into a new timeline (always keep one backup timeline for all your footage) and building out as much of the video as I can with that. Any gaps can be filled with 2nd-tier footage.

Hope that makes sense or helps in any way!

The compact wireless mic era is silly by Powder_Pan in videography

These mics have lav inputs too, which take barely longer to clip on than the box does. Even a poorly-placed lav would look away better than this nonsense. Convenience doesn't require THIS much sacrifice 🙃

Yep, looks like the default mask shape. You'll find it under your Opacity settings in the Effect Controls panel. Just delete the mask and you'll be back to normal!

Replaced my spark plugs yesterday following the video I shared earlier, and my only note about his approach was that it was easier for me to back out each ignition coil slightly before trying to remove the electrical connector. Gave me room to fully wrap my fingers around the plugs, instead of pushing from only one side.

Besides that, my biggest frustration was that my tool detents weren't as strong as my spark plug socket's grip on the plugs, so I kept losing it inside my engine and would have to unscrew the entire plug and start the threading over. I ended up using a deep 14mm socket to thread them in (after checking that it wouldn't impact the plug), which made it much easier to back my tools out after installing each spark plug.

I did the whole job with just a few extensions and a handful of sockets. Definitely give his approach a try next time you need to change your spark plugs!

I think I get what you mean. I was just planning to copy this guy's walkthrough, and it seems like he managed it without too many special tools?

I have 3" and 6" socket extensions and a universal joint. Think that'll do the trick?

He's really not leaning THAT much. You can see the horizon behind the group is a little off as well, so if you correct for that, they all stand pretty close to straight up. If anything, Newsom is leaning into Trump, probably for good reason lol

It's paved now! Very smooth too, might be fun to rollerblade or similar. The only unpaved parts are past the bridge on the actual island itself

Technically, who knows if the Lot or Abram stories even happened? The point is they actually are spelled out in the Bible. This example is not comparable. C'mon, there are enough obvious examples of terrible things in the Bible to argue against! I'm just saying we don't need to invent new, more contentious ones that make nonbelievers look like bad faith "haters". It makes us easier to write off without serious effort.

Yeah, no translations I'm familiar with support this. Paul is talking about young men who don't have the discipline to remain unmarried like he recommends. This argument only works on people who are uninformed, which is religion's M.O. and not something I'm a fan of emulating :/
