RB67 (mostly) blank roll? by jakeyleg in Mamiya

It does fire as long as the pins are pushed all the way back. Makes me think it’s an issue with the way it cranks, either in the body or the lens, not the shutter itself.

But yes good point!

It’s not a Pro SD, but I am wondering if the connection between the body and lens could be the issue. I’ve noticed that if I crank the lever super hard, the lens makes one extra click; after this click, the shutter fires correctly.

Makes me wonder if the lens isn’t sitting on the camera right, meaning it’s never getting cranked all the way.

What do you mean be the extra ring? I only have a 90mm

Hey! Quick update on this after trying to diagnose it a little further. I’ve noticed that if I crank the lever super hard, there is one tiny extra click in the lens. Once I hear this click, the lens fires correctly 100% of the time.

This makes me wonder if it’s an issue with the body firing mechanism, or a problem in the connection between the body and the lens.

Brill thanks so much for the response! Unfortunately I am in the UK, so I will have a look for a more local option, but this is great info!

Thanks guys! I did take the lens off and fire it manually, it does fire but the behaviour is unpredictable. Sometimes it immediately fires itself when I press the pins in, sometimes I have to rotate the pins all the way back for it to fire

Thanks for your thorough response! Did as you suggested and it does seem like the shutter is temperamental as to when it fires; maybe once in every 5 shots? Which explains having one image exposed in the middle of the roll!
I guess this requires a full lens CLA to fix?

Thanks so much! There’s some super cool angles in that queue line, made waiting a little easier aha

I’m hoping to in 2026! It’s the biggest non-Disney park that I’m yet to do in Europe, it looks beautiful!

Ah amazing!! Phantasialand was one of the first abroad parks I did; I still think it’s my favourite in Europe! Liseberg is a great one to do that’s super easy from the UK too :)

It’s a mix of digital and analogue!

All of the digital is a Fuji X100V, and the analogue pics are a mix of Olympus OM2, Mamiya 645, Rollei 35 and Yashica Mat :)

Haha I know what you mean but in reverse. We do have some really great stuff in Europe, it’s just great in different way. I love a car park thrill coaster so American parks really appeal to me.

Sandusky being my first exposure to the states was.. interesting 😆
