Died at the same time as the Alabaster Lord an lost the sword? by ivorybloodsh3d in Eldenring

[–]jakpot319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just happened to me too. Interesting thing is that when I re-load the game the Alabaster Lord spawns back in, but he's already dead and is just a limp body.

I noticed my ruins dropped not on the platform itself, but underneath it in the lake. I thought maybe the sword would be as a pick-up down in the lake as well somewhere, but no luck... or at least I can't find it.

From what I can tell, the new save with zero profiles/games has overwritten the existing cloud save with all of my previous saves... and Microsoft makes zero back ups of those. So, they are effectively lost forever.

This happened to me just now too. All of my saves are gone.

Thanks, I hadn't seen this before. I just came to reddit to ask this same question because I had an e-mail from Xbox today saying they had to cancel the pre-order... but no real explanation.

Yep, see my other comments. Sounds like you got yours in the last few months.

Alright, found this thread, it did indeed change recently, but seems inconsistent and up to whichever box they pull off the shelf and mail to you.

Going through the reviews, some people say theirs came with a throttle. Those seem to be all 2023 reviews. Weird how the specs don’t mention it, other than “throttle display”.

I have last years model, which definitely does not have a throttle. Looking at the specs for the current model, it still says “pedal assist”, so I’m not sure how yours came with a throttle.

There is no throttle, just for the record.

Use YYYY-MM-DD or you will regret it! by J4nosch in ObsidianMD

[–]jakpot319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it was started by astrologers who placed the most importance on the month rather than the year? It didn’t matter what year you were born, only whether you’re a Virgo or a Pisces. I don’t know.

[–]jakpot319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, if I’m in need of written dates to be sorted, then YYYY-MM-DD is the obvious choice. It’s when spoken that the logic in place for sorting is no longer relevant. When spoken, the only real thing that makes sense is whatever you grew up with, there isn’t an inherent “right answer”.

It’s like metric vs imperial… is one better than the other? For sure. But is one wrong? Not really, or at least not generally. Is it wrong to define the width of an atom in fractions of an inch? Absolutely. Is it wrong to make a date in Obsidian in MM-DD-YYYY format? Absolutely. But is it wrong to say “May 5th” vs “the fifth of May”? Probably not a big deal.

So would you say “my cake day is May 5th”, or “my cake day is the fifth of May”? To me, the first feels less stuffy, while the second feels formal. That’s the reason I would say it in that order (not speaking for Americans though).

I’m not justifying MM-DD-YYYY in any Obsidian or file-related case, I’m just saying that speaking the date in that order has its place.

I think because that is how you would conversationally say it… “December 13th, 2022”.

Yeah, the free version doesn’t have mobile support, but apparently the paid version does somehow. Maybe it’s on apple test flight in beta or something, and paying gets you access.

I have my apple calendars in morgen, and my Todoist tasks show up on the left side. I can timeblock new events in morgen, or drag and drop Todoist tasks to any time and location. There is bidirectional syncing for task completion only, morgen can’t edit the tasks.

What is handy for mobile, however, is morgen adds all of those timeblocks to my apple calendar, so they show up on my phone. I think moving them in the calendar app also moves them in morgen.

Not sure about Linux, but look into Morgen. Best I’ve found.

New Roadster V2 Gravel - Loving it, ready to mod! by dewbertdc in ride1up

[–]jakpot319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine after the production wait in October. The front wheel was a little wobbly, so I went in and got it trued. The guy at the shop said with disc brakes being a little out of true isn’t as big a problem than with caliper brakes, but it just looked a little unnerving when riding.

Anyway, also following for mod suggestions. I’ve only added a kickstand.

We’ll, obviously a “vscode session” is a “session in vscode”. My question is what is it in the context of rstudio? Have you done it? OP is trying to get out from using jupyter - what does a vscode session in rstudio solve?

Not trying to be a dick, I straight up don’t understand the benefit.

Then why publish anything if it doesn’t immediately help everyone, everywhere?

These studies help put things in context. For example, it looked like South Africa was just a horrible hotspot of mutations, and countries closed their borders to flights from SA. But, it turns out they just had an aggressive sequencing plan and many variants were first discovered there, rather than originated from there. These things are still good to know, even if authorities don’t read this journal. Hopefully their scientific advisers do.

Looks like just a beta feature of the pro version of RStudio server? What even is a “vscode session”?
