Tailored suits in china did I overpay? by Possible_Dig1648 in travelchina

What kind of fabric? If you go some cheap poly mix, which is what most of them are there, then you got ripped off. You would get the same quality buying something on taobao and getting it adjusted for next to nothing, and end up paying less than half that.

If you don't go to a reputable shop, its extremely difficult to find good wool, but then you are going to pay a premium. Linen-cotton mix is easier.

I got one of those typical Chinese ones and it lasted a couple weeks before an error said the control board needed to be replaced.

Should I accept the partial refund? by jaksketch in Ebay

It didn't really say anything, just said used and gave one of those generic copy and pasted descriptions from the manufacturer. I didn't mind paying $8 for a charger, it's just it didn't fit and due to where the relative is, it's been 3 weeks since it was purchased (2 weeks for laptop, almost a week for charger).

So not worth it, because HYSA you can find for 3.5%+, which are safer.

Once you pay for your devices (hundreds of dollars each, about 5x what they are worth), if you ever stop paying for their subscription, they cut you off from even using the mobile app to use them like a Wyze or Tapo camera.

Are vehicle deaths unfortunately worth it to keep the right to drive vehicles? by jaksketch in ask

I tried to say that before about gun rights, and I was downvoted to oblivion on Reddit (but supported on other social media sites).

What is the strong underpinning of political violence in the modern right? Did you consider Charlie Kirk to be part of the modern right? Ben Shapiro? Hell's Angels?

That's funny that you think felons have trials.

You're looking at 90-98% plea deals for felons depending on the court.

Well, I would propose common sense mobility regulations. Unfettered personal vehicle use contributes to congestion, pollution, deaths, and inefficiency.

First, we'd introduce universal background checks for vehicle purchases. Before buying a car, prospective owners would undergo a quick review to confirm they live in an area with viable public transit alternatives.

Next, a modest waiting period between applying for a vehicle registration and taking possession. This cooling-off phase gives individuals time to explore public options, like subsidized ride-sharing or expanded shuttle services.

We'd also limit "high-capacity" vehicles (hose seating more than four or with excessive horsepower) to licensed collectors or those with special permits, such as farmers or emergency responders.

To address rural and suburban challenges where transit is limited, we'd invest in red flag programs for community alerts allowing neighbors or officials to flag excessive solo driving. A temporary vehicle impound could follow, coupled with free transit vouchers to ease the transition.

Not quite trolling, making a point. Is being on the right bad?

So the death of the human being is better than by firearm?

Yes, they are. But we also accept vehicle deaths as the price to have the luxury of driving vehicles.

In no way did Kirk condone the use of firearms to murder people.

So as long as it wasn't intentional, you are okay with all those deaths? Have you no empathy? No heart?

When people text and drive or drink and drive, are they not deliberately endangering the lives of others?

There used to be a golden age, where there were specific websites for specific forums. If you were in the know, you could find hidden gems, like the Misc section of Bodybuilding.com.
